As students in Victorian public schools go on school holidays today, principals, teachers and support staff will continue work on a backlog of assessment, planning and curriculum preparation according to The Australian Education Union (AEU). The AEU in Victoria says Victorian public school students are the lowest-funded in the country. “Victoria is growing by nearly 3000 people every week. This means 90,000 new students will enter our public school system over the next five years,” said AEU Victoria president Meredith Peace.
