You definitely know this issue of what a bitch the length of time can be. Etc when you just wait to get off work to get home to someone you love, then the time can feel like eternity. And then the same amount of time can feel like a quick flash, when your are at the club and discover a new track you just want to hear over and over again – it can be the break, a small detail in the track or just the hook you just want to sing out loud a million times.

This one hour mixtape is all about the wait time for something you wait for to happen, the desire for repetition and especially the release moment. We hope the selection of tracks, will push your inner clock and get the time to enjoy what you waited for – Just for a moment.

Recently we discovered that we are spread up over the world, one best friend had to move to California, another to Iceland, one to UK and another in LA. We have moved hours from our own family to live in capital of Denmark and now for better benefits, we even split up between Copenhagen and New York. But we are still always connected all way around thanks to shared audio files and video calls used to produce and keep the ability to be in the same music studio mentally. Days can not pass by without eight to ten phone calls and tons of messages with ideas and sketches, and with that, everything feels as it was before but now in a much larger scale of possibilities.

As always our mixtape is a wide mix from around the world all brought together by the Internet and music sharing. Passport borders seems to belong to the past in this case.

Pack your stuff, take a trip, then unpack some and find yourself in a new place, is that not what makes life? The opportunities to take a chance and risk your safe environment for perhaps achieve something you like even better, instead of finding yourself snooze in the same solid frame where your never find yourself and or even worse find out if there might be some you like better?

This mixtape is about tearing up your tent poles, take a chance and break your safe environment. That is the risk we have to deal with on some of the tracks, that have been included in this mixtape instead of going with the certain safe style.

Like shadows we are constantly moving. We started, like any other with a homestudio in a shared apartment. And from then we have been placed in all from a dirty backyard into a nightclub in the meatpacking district, had a whole floor in a hostel in the centrum of the city, and last from a storeroom in a larger juice chain to the legend Dj Alligators old studio. But now vi had again moved to a new studio just a few meters from our home. However, a drawback of this quest; the sound are never the same no matter where you are – you know it from yourself, when you hear your favorite track on your headphones or at a nightclub with a large soundsystem, it sounds different and you may notice some new details of the track.

With this mixtape we have set the goal (perhaps in the lack of time) to make this mixtape at different places and speakers; for example, parts are recorded during a DJ set at a nightclub, some in the studio and another parts on headphones during travel on a train. All in mind that you may also listen to this mixtape during a trip.

This month is all about tracks that fascinates us! The fascination is due to a vocal, a synthesizer or maybe just a funky edge in the beat. If you think carefully, you may recognise a pattern from the things you like the most: a small break or pause from what you adore, will make your fascination and need even more outstanding. This applies to tracks - a reply is great, but if you leave the track for a couple of hours and then return again, you will probably like it even more. Another example is related to the one(s) you love: when you have not seen the person for some time (and this may be even a few hours - at least for some of us), seeing the person again will awake happiness and make fireworks explode inside your mind and body.

In tracks the same thing happens, usually before the last chorus hits there is a break. A break where everything in the track changes, and the feeling strikes; the feeling of being a teenager hopelessly in love or a junkie just waiting for the next fix. Now don’t you worry, because when the break is over, you will be hit again - and maybe even harder than the first time - we promise!

This mix of the month is somehow epic. Our monthly mixtape has passed the golden three-year anniversary! We think it’s time to reflect before it hits the 40th. Number 39 symbolises pitfalls according to Chinese Numerology. The worst pitfall for us would be to stay in our comfort zone and not develop. But don’t you dare thinking that we been that lazy - our style has evolved significantly over the years; we started off being into deep house and simple nu-disco tracks; between us (and without offending anyone), those genres were easy to mix back in the days – especially by beginners like us – and going back, we do admit that the mix was coloured by this criterion once in a while. As time went by and we developed our skills it’s now the complete opposite; we love tracks with a unique start that catches the attention from the beginning. Moving further away from deep house, we are now into the more soulful-pop universe - but still with a penchant for all the nu-disco references – just as the one Patawawa have in their new single.

A pitfall we keep our focus on with these new tracks (and actually spend a lot of time on), is that they are rarely “mix-friendly” and quite difficult to fit into a mixtape - especially when you don't want to ruin the cool and almost Daft Punk “kind-off” start that Jarreau Vandal have added in his remix of Digital Farm Animals. And what if the track doesn’t have a beat from the beginning but only a vocal like SG Lewis? Our creative minds are challenged in so many ways with these tracks, however, that’s part of what makes us grow further. Anyway, we have done our best, all for you!

Focus these days is on livesets, or actually, that has been our focus for the last months - and we really feel we are progressing. One thing we've learned is that our Prophet has 256 sounds, and if you want to save a new one, another one must go. Learned it the hard way, when during a liveset our beloved 'bug-a-boo' note by accident was overwritten. At the beginning we panicked - this sound we had been working on for so long - but there was only one thing to do: recreate it. What we experienced was that we liked the 'new Bug a Boo' sound even more than the original. Every artist knows this. Every creative person. Every student writing an assignment. Every cook baking a bread. Every employee struggling to solve a problem… Sometimes – you just gotta start all over - though panic may hit you, but you know that in most cases the final outcome is even better than the initial one.

Recently, we have caught ourselves spending quite some time bleaching the keys on our synthesizers. The colour had faded and they were no longer white and shiny. During the process, we realised that the obsession did not have any meaning - the cost of bleaching were clearly higher than the benefits we may receive from it. Now that may seem like an odd conclusion, but there are several things behind our decision. First, it is almost always dark when we play, so nevertheless, there is no pleasure for the eye.
Second (and most important), the colour of the keys has nothing to do with the sounds from the synthesizer - only the person behind the keyboard can control this.

The chemical vapors also made us think about the fact, that the music we select in our mixtapes, is not influenced by visual experiences; if the artist is a white boy named Tyler Touché from Australia or a black women named Crystal Waters from Philadelphia, Satin Jackets the duo or a soloist like Shura - it is the listening experience from the speakers that really matters.
