- The One Where Steve and me release part 2 as part 1This is technically part 2 of us talking, but really part 1 of being released with part 1 to follow as part 2 with audio only.. okay, I’ll explain. We recorded an episode that had to be cut short at 45 min when I was getting my kid from school. When I went to edit what we had turns out the video is messed up, but the audio worked perfectly. So, we sat down again and talked about all new things about his history with addiction and how it looks since he quit. I love having guests on that don’t do traditional recovery. Yeah, 12 steps worked for me and many others, but they don’t work for everyone. I love finding the people that are able to stay away from their addictions without picking up new ones. We met in a huge Facebook recovery group, but it turns out we were getting high miles away from each other for a very long time in south Jersey! - The One When she asked to have her identity hidden because of stigmas we discuss during the episode.Stigmas with alcohol and being a mother are so wild that I am honoring this guests wishes by not releasing her name. Even though she’s sober now 11 years she is still not ready yet for her son or exes to hear her tell her story. It’s a very important episode to release because her story is going to relate to most mothers that listen to the show, maybe even fathers. She never got a DUI and doesn’t “appear” to be an alcoholic, but it’s not how much we drank. It’s why we drank. Most people that aren’t in recovery and listen to my show can’t relate to a lot of guests stories. She was actually worried about not being as crazy of a story as others I’ve recorded, but that’s exactly why this is the most relatable episode yet. She’s been through a lot in her recovery, but she just keeps looking forward and what’s best for her teenage boy. We discuss so many different topics in our very fun conversation! The biggest one that sticks out to me though is how acceptable it is for moms to openly talk about getting drunk or day drinking causing a lot of issues with home life with couples and families over something very legal and acceptable. - The One Where Muckrock does a podcast!Jules Muck aka Muckrock is an artist known all over the world. She started out using spray paint growing up around NYC at a young age. Eventually became a way for her to support her drug habit. She spent many years in addiction, including being on a roof in NYC blocks away from the World Trade Centers and watched the second plane hit from the roof.
