When I started out in MLM I was excited about the chance to share a great product with a couple of friends. I was convinced that they would see it and want to join with me in sharing it with friends and that together we would all build a great business sharing the product and opportunity with others.

I was quickly running out of names on my list. I started to hear about this this thing called social media marketing. All I knew about that was that it involved Facebook.

When I became involved in MLM I was told that I didn’t need to be a sales person. I was simply sharing information.

Since I was not a “sales person” I didn’t feel the need to learn any sales skills. The mindset of “sharing information” worked well when I made appointments with friends but then the presentation would end and I wasn’t able to ask for the sale because I wasn’t “selling” anything. 

That attitude made the close extremely awkward and the follow up impossible to do.

I get requests daily to join Facebook groups and like business pages. I very rarely do either of them.
