Within a day of the end of the Minnesota Twins' season, manager Rocco Baldelli was fired and two articles were published about the Pohlad family. Somewhat surprised by both, David, Dan and Hoges recap each development. They are puzzled by the timing of the firing, even if it seems merited. They also offer up one former Twins player as a replacement candidate, though they'd prefer someone with a firmer approach than Baldelli's. And, as they generally agree: The recent stories about the Pohlads only add to the narrative that the family is not in it to win it. Once again, the Minnesota Twins take the first game of a series and lose the next two, this time against the New York Yankees. The Minnesota Twins helped to make Monday night wonderful for Minnesota sports fans, but after that they lost badly and then lost frustratingly to the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim to drop another series. David is pleased with the performance in Game 1 and wonders what was inside Rocco Baldelli's mind in Game 2. This was certainly a low for the season and possibly for a span much longer than that, as the Minnesota Twins are swept by the Chicago White Sox in a four-game series in Minnesota for the first time ever. David and Dan identify a few nice performances but mostly see the bad bullpen and mediocre starting pitching, which cost the Twins against what is supposedly the worst team in the American League.
