The most underutilized energy source, in our Modern World, is that of the winter.
What do I mean by that?
Winter is just dead and quiet right!?
Yes, it sure appears that way, but we all know very well that it indeed is not!
Winter is a resting time, a going within- to the roots. Deeply nourishing, deeply grounding after releasing all that no longer serves us. It is a time of deep reflection, slow pace, and consistency to remain dormant and dare I say unexciting!
How do you do in the winter?
Do you mirror nature?
It is rare to find those who do. Possibly cultures in the immersed in winter for most of the year are the best- like the Scandinavian cultures.
They have greatly embraced this energy which has lead to not only their survival, but their ability to thrive beyond most modern day cultures.
They eat locally grown roots, wild game, cold water fish, and have beautiful family and cultural rituals like cold plunging and sauna.
A place that could be so "hard" becomes so healing when the season is properly honored.
So how can we bring this into our life?
Let's dive into the energy of winter and see how we can use foods, lifestyle practices, and get comfortable "doing nothing".
Although it's the end of February, we still have 1 month until the Spring Equinox on March 20. So if you haven't already, this is your time to dive in to the winter energy.
Lets slow down and deeply nourish ourselves so when that energy in the earth starts to rise, we have the energy to move with it, cleanse in the spring, and have sustained energy for the year!
Here's to winter!
