Design in Portugal? Who better to shed light on this than Tiago Nunes from With Company, a Lisbon based design firm he is the co-founder and managing partner. Tiago talks to Things+ about his journey as a designer, which has taken him from Lisbon to Berlin to study at the Hasso Plattner Insitute and to Australia before returning to his native Portugal. We compare notes on design maturity in Portugal and Finland and talk about the dominant mindset and thinking. While 2020 has turned the world upside down - these are Tiago's words - Portuguese resilience has been tested before and they've seen worse and from the scarcity evolved a thriving start-up and self-starter economy that is now helping to digitalise the essential services. Now designers are needed to solve pandemic related challenges that are not just wicked and complex but urgent!
