Scott shares with us the challenge of choosing between cash and whiskey, Lolly the Jeep, being “Ducked” vs the Handi-Corn, starting OCD off road, going from engineering as a career to marketing to building Jeeps, customers doing the COVID-19 pow wow in the parking lot, why he misses Virginia’s redneck roots, wheeling the Cove, East Coast Granite, doing the TAT and his favorite mod under $100.

This week we are joined by Bob Sweeney President of Jeepers Jamboree, which hosts the Grandaddy of all Jeeping Events on the famous Rubicon Trail.  Bob digs into why, despite everything and lots of community support, they decided to cancel Jeepers Jamboree this year [the first time in 67 years], how their County was threatened by Governor Newsom, how they get 800 Jeeps through this epic trail, handling emergencies on the trail, why the Rubicon Trail depends on Jeepers Jamboree for it’s own survival, having incredible volunteers, the Jeep Jamboree Kids program called Camp Rubicon, what the history is between Jeepers Jamboree and Jeep Jamboree USA, and Going Ultra4.

Amongst all this, Bob and Corey manage to educate Matson on what a “Section” is. 

This week’s Tech Tip of the Week is all about being prepared for instantly changing weather on the trail.

Hello ModernJeepers, welcome to Episode Number 72 of The ModernJeeper Show… the show about Jeeps, Jeeping and Jeepers.

With all of the craziness going on in our world, some days we just have to throw our hands up, take a breath, and remember how we got here. It seems that planning for pretty much anything is a true challenge. Jeep events, including our very own Modern Jeeper Adventures trips to Tillamook, OR and the Rubicon Trail have been put off for now. Even the events that had postponed are now starting to throw in the towel and just wait until next year. There are a few that are still trying to hold on, including one of our favorites, The Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion in Pigeon Forge, TN. I know our fingers are crossed that it still happens.

With the 4th of July happening this weekend, we know you are all still planning on celebrating our freedoms...the best way we know how, by getting outside in our Jeeps! Many of us still have projects we are working on and that might be how you plan on celebrating this important holiday...but either way, cheers to our country and our freedoms that we still have!

I spent a few hours this morning with my friends at a local shop tearing apart an ARB air locker to fix an internal leak. For our Tech Tip of the Week, we chat about air lockers; what you should check; why your compressor might be running non stop; and how to fix it. Stay tuned for some video of what that project looks like as well!

The CTI Tour has been on the Road! Jessy "RockStar Jeep Girl" and myself have been on the road for just over 2 weeks and all I can say is that things have definitely changed! Literally from State to State, County to County and sometimes block to block, the rules and their interpretation are definitely unique.

We trekked across the Southwest in order to attend the 5th year of the Florida Jeep Jam in Panama City Beach, and I will say that us as an industry and as Jeepers are a resilient bunch! We crave getting outside and we miss our fellow enthusiasts...but most of all we miss Jeeping!
