  • MoDX Ep 9 Back When Stunts Were Stunts
Join Chris & Andy to get the man-nerd perspective you always wanted from the UK. What's new in the nerd-lives of 2 men in a constant state of arrested development who consume an unholy amount of movies, TV shows, comic books, video games and more over a two week period. This is a nerd-y vodcast with sacrifice folks - there's no way we can devour this much content without neglecting our children!
We open up with a chat about what we've been up to since episode 8, discussing all the latest TV shows & movies we've watched as well as any games we've had on. This intro includes some extended chat about 2 shows we're both digging at the moment - Wandavision and The Expanse.
Then it's over to "Andy's Retro Corner", where we do a retro movie re-watch. This episode's movie of choice is the 1977 classic "Smokey and the Bandit". Tune in for Chris & Andy's thoughts on this 70's comedy road movie. Does it pass muster as we watch it in our later years?
Finally - we wrap the show up with "Chris' Comic Book Corner", with a re-read of the 90's Batman story event "Knightfall". Chris read Knightfall the very first time it was published and has fond nostalgic memories of this major comic book cross over of the Batman titles, do you think it will switch Andy on too?

For the "Retro Movie Review" this episode we take a look at Michael Bay's movie debut "Bad Boys". Is this 90's action movie classic starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence worthy of Andy's gushing and its cult following? Is Chris into it, or will he once again be a boring naysayer of the Bay movie output? And how bad is the shaky-cam this time?
We then move on to Chris’ “Comic Book Corner”. We return to the Wildstorm era of the late 90s and put "The Authority" under Andy's nose. we already know that Chris loves The Authority - will it impact on the comic book novice that is Andy the same way it did Chris the first time he read it?
We wrap up with another play along quiz from Andy. It may, or may not, have been influenced by a popular UK game show.
All this and so much more.

  • MoDX Ep 7 Mention the Kids and You'll be Destined to Die
Chris & Andy return with more nerd-y chat: talking about the Movies, TV, games and comic books that keep these two man-children entertained.
There’s been much to talk about from the Nerd-lives of these overgrown man-children from the past two weeks. Find out what the lads have been watching & playing to pass the lockdown hours away and avoid adulting as much as possible. Also get a little more insight into Chris’ constant moaning about the new Star Wars stuff.
Then it’s on to our first standard segments: the “Retro Reviews”. In this instalment we re-watch Aliens vs Predator (AvP) for short. Does this film represent the franchise and live up to Andy’s love of the Alien and Predator films or is it too little, too late? And who did Chris think was the real central character of it all?
We then move on to Chris’ “Comic Book Corner”. Chris has dug out a bit of nostalgia from his comic book reading days as young lad with the Robin Reborn collection. The Tim Drake Robin was one of Chris’ most beloved Batman characters from the early 90s and thinks this origin story collection is the bee knees. Does Andy agree?
It’s been compared to a book club – with no novels and exclusively for nerds – and we’re OK with that! Why not join in and share the re-watch & re-read with us?
We wrap up with a of play along quiz action from Andy. Test your knowledge of Sci-Fi and Fantasy villains with Chris, but be warned, there is a twist to this test.

Also – the latest Chris moan-y rant, this time about Cinemas.
We start the main segments in this episode with Chris’ “Comic Book Corner”. Chris has challenged Andy to read Warren Ellis/John Cassady’s series “The Planetary”. How will this hyper-meta series land with the comic book novice that is Andy? Listen to find out.
Then it’s over to Andy’s Retro Corner, where we get all festive with the Christmas movie of all Christmas movies: Die Hard. We have a good natter sharing our observations from the re-watch of this classic 80’s action spectacular.

  • MoDX Ep 4 Keep The Camera Still Bay!
It’s the podcasting event of the fortnight, the latest episode of MoDXtra!
Chris & Andy return with more nerd-y chat: talking about the Movies, TV, games and comic books that keep these two man-children entertained.
We open up with the standard overview of our two week’s nerdlife – sharing some thoughts on the movies, TV, and comic books that have caught our eye and entertained us in recent weeks. Lockdown (and the Zombie chat from our last episode) has sent Andy into Movie-marathon mode, have a listen to get the loooong list of flicks Andy has devoured since we last recorded.
Then its on to “Chris’ Comic Book Corner”. The reading challenge this week was “WE3”, written by Grant Morrison & illustrated by Frank Quitely. It’s a short, curious trade paperback for Chris to put in front of Andy, listen in to hear his thoughts.
The movie in “Andy’s Retro Corner” is Michael Bay’s “The Rock”. One of our team LOVES it, the other is less enamoured. Is it the perfect 90s action movies or ludicrous nonsense with plenty to dislike?
To finish up we’re talking Movie & TV robots. The lads play a game of 20 questions in an effort to guess each other’s favourite synthetic character from the silver screen. With a wealth of robots, androids,

  • MoDX Ep 3 Get Your Power Tools Out... You’ll Be Fine
The MoDXtra vodcast is back with more random man-child chat about nerdy movies, TV shows, comic books and computer games.
There’s so much packed in here that its almost impossible to summarise in a blurb. Nerdy about reality food shows and want to feel less alone? Andy’s got your back. Want to hear about what flicks & TV shows have been on the lad’s telly’s? We’ll tell you all about it with pleasure. Curious about what two Dad’s do with their time on their games consoles? We’ve got all you need and more.
There are also our standard segments:
The “Retro Reviews” - In Andy’s segment we re-watch the 80s family film Short Circuit 2 and discuss our thoughts & feelings on the film watching it today. Listen as we discuss the cinematography, characters and navigate one of the more challenging aspects of this film's legacy.
In Chris’ “Comic Book Corner” we’re introducing Andy to Keith Giffin’s Justice League International run from the late 80s. We’re 3 episodes in and its about time we got to looking at some classic capes & tights stuff.
It’s been compared to a book club – with no novels and exclusively for nerds – and we’re OK with that! Why not join in and share the re-watch & re-read with us?
We wrap up with a “Debate battle”. We’re not going head-to-head this week though, we’re just debating which movie has the best Zombies, from our admittedly limited Zombie knowledge.

It’s been compared to a book club – with no novels and exclusively for nerds – and we’re OK with that! Why not join in and share the re-watch & re-read with us?
We wrap up with a “Debate battle”. Andy thinks that Jon McClean is more hardcore than Jack Bauer. Chris thinks he’s entirely wrong. The lad’s thrash this completely irrelevant subject out. Which team are you?

  • MoDX Ep 1 “Cashing Ego Cheques”
This is a PodCast from “The Ministry of Dice”. We started out years ago as a content creator solely focused on the Wizkids game Dice Masters, but after years of enjoying ourselves so much with making podcasts we decided to spread our wings and start a second podcast to cover a wider selection of our Man-child nerd interests.
So… it’s going to be lots of rambling about movies, video games, comic-books, collectibles… anything nerdy we get ourselves distracted by to avoid being adults and real life.
After introduction and context we will move to our first segment, called “What have you been up to?”. In this segment we’ll review our last two weeks of nerd-life. What have we been watching, playing & reading as the two erudite, world-y nerds that we are.
Then we are onto “Andy’s Retro Corner”, where Andy, as an 80s/90s buff, sets us a re-watch challenge that we have come together to discuss. This week’s movie is the 80s classic “Top Gun”. Andy claims it’s got everything you want from an 80s movie…
Next up its “Chris’ Comic Book Corner”. Chris is picking a Trade Paperback collection to improve Andy’s Comic Book education and has dropped him right in the deep end right out of the gate with the Alan Moore classic “The Watchmen”.
Finally – it’s the “Random Segment”, which is a debate battle informed by a Facebook post Andy saw: who would win in a battle between Superman and The Hulk? We discuss the possibilities and take it all a little too seriously.
All this and so much more.
