When she was 10 years old, Genevieve Thorpe underwent surgery to correct a minor deformity on her ear.
However, another insecurity arose months after surgery when she discovered excessive scar tissue was forming on her ears, called keloid scarring.
Genevieve talks with Monash Professor Geoffrey Sussman to investigate why many people experience this abnormality, and reflects with her mother and a fellow keloid sufferer on the genetic condition.
