🚫 Top 10 Worst Apps & Sites for Kids Under 16

    1. TikTok – Huge exposure to inappropriate/sexual content and addictive recommendation algorithm; age verification is weak.
    2. Snapchat – Disappearing messages and location sharing can encourage risky behavior and make monitoring hard.
    3. Omegle – Anonymous text and video chat with strangers — predators have used it to contact minors.
    4. Kik Messenger – No strong age checks or moderation; known for explicit content and contact from strangers.
    5. Yubo – Swipe-style social network (like teen “dating” blend) with a history of grooming and exploitation concerns.
    6. Discord – Unfiltered chats and private servers make it easy for kids to encounter adult content or predators.
    7. Hoop – Swipe to match/meet feature aimed at teens; can lead to sharing personal info or moving to other apps.
    8. Live.me / Similar live streaming platforms – Public live broadcasts can attract inappropriate requests, harassment, and grooming.
    9. MeetMe – Location-based social discovery with risk of offline meeting strangers; often unrestricted contact.
    10. Deceptive “vault/secret” apps (e.g., Calculator-style photo vaults) – Hide pictures/videos and make tracking activity difficult.

    🧠 Other Notable Risks

    • AI Companion/Chatbot Apps like Replika, Character.AI, and Nomi are flagged by safety advocates for psychological risks and exposure to harmful content when used by minors as emotional “friends.”
    • Roblox — online safety authorities have raised alarms about exploitation and inappropriate user-generated content within games and chats.

    Recommendations from an acupuncturist:

    • Eat foods from the Warming Foods section of the Fertility Enhancing Foods document (not a huge deal if you're taking a lot of progesterone, but it's always good to keep your body warm post-transfer).
    • Wear socks or house slippers around the house (don't let your feet get cold)
    • Make a "Nourishing List" - this is a list of 5-10 things that you find nourishing. These can be really simple such as taking a walk, drinking a glass of water, doing mindful breathing or meditation, etc. Anytime you feel stressed, worried, angry, sad, hopeless, etc. (there's a lot of emotions that can surface during the waiting period!) set a timer for 1 minute. During that minute you get to sit there, feel your feelings, and acknowledge them. When the timer goes off you get up and do something from your nourishing list. This process acknowledges how you're feeling, but it also helps you move forward with something positive.
    • Practice mindful breathing during the next week. Try the pattern of inhaling for 4 counts, hold that breath for 4 counts, exhale for 4 counts, and hold the exhale with empty lungs for 4 counts. This pattern helps reset the nervous system and immediately lowers stress levels.
    • Acupuncture helps reduce stress and we recommend 1 treatment between your FET and your blood work (more than one is fine if you really need help reducing stress). Coming in anytime next week would be appropriate for this timeline. After your blood work we'll come up with a new plan and go from there!
    • Drinking warm lemon water in the morning can help support your liver to process all those medications your taking! (It won't speed up or slow down the process, just help support your liver.) I’ve attached a copy of that recipe.

    Reproductive Acupuncturist:

    • Acupuncture 2 times per week through the first trimester.
    • Eat a whole food based breakfast and eat regular meals to keep your blood sugar stable.
    • Focus on eating organic fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, free range eggs, and grass-fed meats.  Avoid processed foods and those high in sugar.
    • Avoid the Dirty Dozen foods highest in pesticide residue.
    • Water intake should ideally be ½ your weight in ounces.
    • Try to get 8-9 hours

  • Tomorrow Is Never Promised: A Journey Through Grief, Healing, and Resilience

    Send us Fan Mail

In this deeply personal episode, we hold space for the stories that are often too heavy to carry alone. We begin with a dedication to the Keller family, who faced the unimaginable loss of their 12-year-old son to Leukemia just 30 days after his diagnosis on New Year’s Day.

Reflecting on the "echoes of grief," our host journeys back to 2005—recalling the pivotal phone call from Drake University that led to a final goodbye to her mother. This legacy of loss set the stage for her own silent battle with cervical cancer while navigating the depths of postpartum depression.

    In this episode, we discuss:

    • The Weight of 30 Days: Honoring the memory of a life gone too soon and the "next-level" pain of losing a child.
    • Echoes of 2005: The trauma of losing a parent at age 20 and how it weaves into the fabric of who we become.
    • A Private Battle: Why some choose silence over sharing during a health crisis, and the reality of navigating a cancer diagnosis while nursing a 16-month-old.
    • The Power of Proactivity: How early detection, Western medicine, and holistic healing paths converged to find a way forward.

The takeaway is simple but vital: Tomorrow is never promised. We hope this episode serves as a gentle reminder to give the extra hug and say "I love you" today.
