With just minutes to spare before Tremane Wood’s scheduled execution, Republican governor Kevin Stitt made the unusual move to accept the Pardon and Parole Board’s recommendation and commuted Wood’s death sentence to life without parole. Amy and T.J. have been following this case since the Parole Board made its decision, and after speaking with Wood’s family earlier in the week, share their thoughts on this decision that had nothing to do with guilt or innocence, but had everything to do with the fairness of our justice system and the wishes of the victim’s family.
