Heads up, this is a very heavy episode where I talk about a recent traumatic experience that happened with my dog (she's ok now) before I dive into some more traumatic family stories about my sister with special needs. My mom tells me the full story about the birth of my sister Leigh and how the doctor lead us to believe that she was going to die shortly after birth but then realizing that she was a child with special needs.

Sometimes men feel like our jobs are important or we work so hard that when we come home, we're entitled to be messy because it's our release. But at the same time, I've never fallen asleep on my bed without sheets or raw dogged the mattress. Because my girlfriend at the time was an animal apologist for every time our cat would diarrhea all over my pillow, we were messy in our own ways which was a bit of a clusterf***. So I feel I'm in a unique position to offer this woman advice on getting her boyfriend to pick up his sh*t with some insight from my mother.

On this episode of the Mommy Issues Podcast, a girl asks us for advice about pursuing something you've been scared of pursing in the past. As someone who took the leap in comedy, this is a great topic to touch upon because you might have a lot of internal questions and self doubt to address first. Luckily for her, my mom also has great advice and a lot of encouragement on this issue.

What started off as two girls flirting with each other at rock climbing ended up with one of them being bombarded with the other girls trauma followed by a text about how the one girl crocheted her hair into a granny square. Pretty sure this might be a stalker type of situation but how do you respond to that to gain clarity? This woman is dealing with her sister's boyfriend who has embedded misogyny, is disrespectful to your parents while living under their roof and also won't drop stupid arguments such as whether or not your bladder muscles are strengthened or weakened by holding in your pee. She wants to know if she can change him for the better. My mom and weigh in if this is even plausible. Also, can you strengthen or weaken your bladder muscles by holding in your pee?

When I was younger, I was so desperate to have a dog. Luckily, my mom understood that as a thirteen year old with a social life, I was in no position to take care of a dog. So now I have a girl asking my mom and I what to do about her dog becoming jealous every time she's about to have sex with her boyfriend. I've been in a somewhat similar situation but this is a little more complex than just readjusting the direction of the doggy crate.
