What did a Lithuanian photographer learn about motherhood? That's coming up next.
There's a Lithuanian photographer who did a series called becoming a mother in this series. She conveyed the changes that happen to a woman. When she becomes a mother, she took multiple women and photograph them before they had a kid and after, and the changes are amazing.
I'm going to link to this series in the show notes so that you can check it out for yourself. What struck me was the change in the women's eyes. I thought at first it would be exhaustion. I know that's how you feel as well, but it wasn't, the eyes showed joy, love, hope amazement. If you take one, look at any of these women, you can tell that they are fundamentally changed by motherhood and aren't we all.
Yes. The kids scream a lot. Yes, they are tiring. But in the end, We are better people because of them. I was struck that the women not only looked happy, but they looked full of wisdom. Now, when do we get our wisdom? I'm not sure if I have an answer for you on that. But wisdom comes through living life and having a kid is a lot of life living.
Go find a picture of yourself before motherhood and take another picture. Smiling after mother. Look in your eyes. What do you see? I bet. If you look deeply, you'll see joy, hope, love, amazement, and wisdom. I'll link to the series in the show notes. It's really a great series. You should check it out and let me know what you see in their eyes.
That moment was for you, go make someone else's day.
