On April 10, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, accompanied by Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, embarked on a poignant journey through Brittany and Normandy. The visit served to deepen Monaco’s historic connections with these French regions, rooted in centuries of shared heritage.

Continuing his official engagements, Prince Albert II concluded the Normandy leg of the tour on April 11. The trip commemorated the enduring ties between the Grimaldi and Matignon families—an alliance that spans over three centuries—and underlined the Prince’s commitment to preserving Monaco’s cultural legacy across borders.

Monaco turned its attention to the arts and memory on April 12, paying tribute to Josephine Baker, fifty years after her passing in 1975. On April 3, the National Council passed three key bills designed to strengthen the Principality’s business environment and tackle housing challenges, reaffirming its long-term vision for balanced development.

In a glamorous nod to global diplomacy, Flavio Briatore was officially named Monaco’s Goodwill Ambassador 2025 during a gala event at the Hôtel de Paris on April 4. The evening, held in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II, celebrated Briatore’s international influence and his close ties with the Principality.

Tennis history was made on April 5 as Court No.2 at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters was renamed Court Elizabeth-Ann de Massy, paying tribute to the late Baroness’s unwavering dedication to the sport and her pivotal role in promoting tennis both in Monaco and beyond.

The Principality came together in solemn remembrance on April 6 to mark twenty years since the passing of Prince Rainier III. Known as the “Builder Prince,” Rainier transformed Monaco during his 56-year reign, laying the foundations for the modern state we know today.

On the same weekend, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters served up its first matches with a full house and star-studded draw. The Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress (AMWC) returned to Monaco on March 26, attracting over 17,000 professionals to the Grimaldi Forum. The event showcased cutting-edge advancements in aesthetic medicine, anti-aging treatments, and longevity science.  

Monaco's entertainment and leisure scene expanded on March 29 with the opening of Pilotage et Loisirs Box 98, a new multi-activity complex on the terraces of Fontvieille. Designed for adrenaline seekers and families alike, the venue offers a range of experiences, from driving simulators to virtual reality adventures.  

The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco is urging action to protect the Mediterranean with its new immersive exhibition, Mediterranean 2050, which opened on March 29. Officially inaugurated by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, the exhibition highlights the future challenges facing the sea and calls for urgent environmental action.  

Monaco’s social calendar shone brightly with the 69th edition of the Rose Ball on March 29 at the Sporting Monte-Carlo. This year’s event, under the artistic direction of Christian Louboutin, embraced a Caribbean theme, bringing vibrant colours, tropical designs, and lively entertainment to one of the Principality’s most anticipated charity galas.  

The Principality’s culinary excellence was once again recognised as the Michelin Guide unveiled its 2025 selections at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo on March 31. Several Monaco-based restaurants received or retained their coveted stars, further cementing the city’s reputation as a top gastronomic destination.  

Beyond Monaco, an urgent call for ocean conservation was issued in Paris on March 31, as the SOS Ocean summit took place at the Musée de la Marine. The summit comes just months before the third United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice, scheduled for June, and gathered world leaders, scientists, and activists to address critical threats to marine ecosystems.  

Promoting peace through sport, the ninth edition of the Princess Charlene Rally for Peace saw nearly 400 third-year students from Monaco’s three secondary schools come together for a day of teamwork and learning. The event, held under the patronage of the Princess Charlene Foundation, emphasised unity, respect, and collaboration through various athletic challenges.  

In sports, the Roca Team suffered a tough loss to Panathinaïkos on April 3 in the 33rd round of the EuroLeague. Kendrick Nunn delivered a dominant performance, leading the Greek side to an 88-76 victory and delaying Monaco’s playoff qualification hopes.

Monaco strengthened its diplomatic ties within Europe as National Council President Thomas Brezzo represented the Principality at the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament in Strasbourg on March 21. This gathering of European leaders provided a platform for discussions on key political and legislative matters affecting the continent.

The Monte-Carlo Opera paid tribute to a musical icon, celebrating both the 150th anniversary of Maurice Ravel’s birth and the 100th anniversary of his celebrated opera L’Enfant et les Sortilèges with a special double-bill programme at the Salle Garnier from March 21 to 27. The performances captivated audiences, honouring Ravel’s lasting legacy in the world of classical music.

On March 23, Monaco took a proactive step towards road safety as Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène attended the inaugural Road Safety Day at the Esplanade of Larvotto Beach. On March 12, the Princess Grace Hospital unveiled Smartspeed, a cutting-edge artificial intelligence module designed to enhance MRI diagnostics. This innovation significantly improves scan quality and efficiency, marking a new era in Monaco’s healthcare capabilities.

Laughter and introspection took centre stage at the Grimaldi Forum as the Serenissimes of Humor festival kicked off on March 12. The event opened with Philippe Lellouche’s first-ever solo stand-up show, Standalone, setting the tone for a festival that blends comedy with deeper reflections on life.
