In this episode you will hear of many life lessons that Mike has to share.  Mike has traveled to 40 different countries and seen many different cultures and how they think and act with their time and money.  Mike quickly realized that America is the land of opportunity.  Although Mike's father Immigrated here from Italy and had an amazing work ethic but never developed any financial literacy.  Mike had to lean on his travels to learn his financial literacy through his experiences.  If you are ready to go deep in to some of life's great lessons I highly recommend this episode for a great listen.

In this episode you will hear Melvin talk about how he was born and raised in a small country in South America called Guyana which is north of Brazil and is bordered by Venezuela and Suriname.  Melvin migrated to the United States at the age of 13, he landed in Brooklyn, NY on a snowy Christmas Day 1993.  Melvin parents wanted to come to the promised land (U.S.) so they journeyed with one of Melvin's siblings 3 years before Melvin and his sister joined them.  Melvin's mom was a nurse working 12 hour shifts at night and his Dad worked in the police force and out of that Melvin observed very hard working parents but they were barely getting by financially.  Melvin did not receive any financial advice from his parents and realized that because money was tight he wasn't able to get the things that he wanted, he only received the things that he needed.  When Melvin was 17 years old he joined the Air Force which paid for his education towards becoming the Doctor that he is today.  Melvin did not start taking his finances serious until he had been in the Military about 10 years.  This is an interesting listen and has great lessons for everyone.

In this episode you will hear Tony talk about when he was young his grandparents owned several restaurants and they would watch him when he was young.  Tony's Grandmother would let him play with the stacks of money on the floor and that is something he will not ever forget.  One of Tony's Grandfather's favorite things to do was give his grandchildren a silver dollar every time they did something of value.  Tony's Grandfather taught him some really valuable lessons with money.  Tony learned at an early age that if he wanted something he needed to make his own money and so with that mindset he has always worked.  Tony had a crash course in to adulthood when he and his high school sweetheart (now wife) became pregnant while still in high school.  Tony has two Grandchildren of his own now and wants to be able to teach them the same valuable lessons with money his Grandfather taught him.

In this episode you will hear Natalie talk about when she started working and started to make money.  Natalie at the age of 16 got her first taste of making money even though it was 1 day a week.  At 17 after she finished High School is when she found a full time job as a housekeeper on the Air Force Base and from there she decided to join the Air Force.  Natalie has now been in the Air Force 18 years is a Major and a Physician's Assistant and considers this the best decision she could have ever made.  In basic training is when she first received an education about money and that she should be putting money away for retirement.  Natalie also discovered that she should get her first credit card, how to use it and start building her credit.  Natalie now has a mindset of focusing on her financial future and what she should be teaching her children as well.  A great and interesting listen!

In this episode you will hear Jeff Odom talk about the first jobs he had as a kid, ie: paper boy, construction, fast food and when he worked at a grocery store bagging groceries is when he first learned about business and being an entrepreneur.  Jeff's parents tried teaching him to save his money but he wanted to spend every dime he made.  Jeff started working at his family business when he was 18 which was only supposed to be temporary because he wanted to go to school and learn about marketing or sales but it turned in to him working there 38 years.  When Jeff became a full time employee, Jeff's parents set him up with a retirement account and he started funding it but when he was 25 he took out the $2K that was in there because he did not see the value of the account but later in life realized what a mistake that cost him.  When Jeff was 35 he realized one day that there had to be a way to pay off the debt that had accumulated, he did some research on how money works, how debt works and created a plan on how to pay it off and was able to become debt free in a couple of years.  Continue listening to Jeff's awesome financial journey and how he eventually made it on top.

In this episode you will hear Carlos Hank talk about when he was young he learned how to hustle.  Carlos was 15 years old and worked as a laborer on construction sites doing what was needed of him to help out on the sites.  Carlos' Mom worked as a union laborer and his Dad worked for Southern Pacific Railroad as a bridge tender, his Dad taught him you must be ready to invest and take advantage of opportunities when they come.  When Carlos received his first paycheck from construction he gave it to his Mom because his family was not well off and he felt the family needed it.  The other paychecks he would receive he would go out with his friends and he became a spender.  When Carlos joined the Military he was not making very much money, he was married and had to have a very tight budget.  Carlos sought out a Mentor in the Military and discovered he needed to grow in the ranks to be able to increase his salary.  During his time in the Military he met a guy in the squadron that looked like he had a lot of money and was probably the same rank as him. This individual invited Carlos to the enlisted club to a class he was holding and he learned about investing.  Carlos and his wife realized they were wasting money on items when they should be investing.  Continue listening to hear the path that Carlos took to get where he is now.

In this episode you will hear Kevin and David Nieves talk about money mindset and why people don't talk about money.  David has the mindset that if we talk about money we will all do better with money.  People are personal with their money and don't like people to know what they have and what they don't have and that has been ingrained in us when we were very young as habits.  Young people especially think they are too young to save or set themselves up for the future with opening retirement accounts or even buying a house.  Part of the problem is that young people are taught by their parents and most of the time parents don't know what to do financially.  Most parents don't know how to be proactive in learning and then teaching their children how to make money and what to do with money.  Listen how Kevin and David continue the conversation and talk about how people need to have conversations about money and ask questions concerning money.  Talking about money shouldn't feel Taboo.

In this episode you will hear Bruna Moscol talk about how she's originally from Peru.  Bruna's Mom makes the trip to the US as a single Mom with Bruna, age 10 and her brother, age 8.  Living in Peru they were living the Middle class lifestyle but when they arrived in the US they had to start at zero.  Bruna's Mom's first job in the US is at McDonald's in the daytime and would then work at Wendy's at night to provide for her family.  Her Mom met and married a man from Argentina and they started a company that would wash vehicle's.  Bruna learned her work ethic from her Mom who instilled in her children to work hard and to not ever feel sorry for themselves because they were immigrants.  Bruna picked up the investing bug when she was 11 years old, they would go to Goodwill and she would head to the book section, the books only cost 10 cents.  Bruna came across a book called something like the "Ultimate Guide to Investing", she started reading it and it opened her mind to the possibilities of what she could do with her money when she eventually had some.  When she was in her freshman year of High School she started reading another book called "The Teenage Investor" and it got her excited of the possibilities for her future.  This is a great listen on the story of a hard working woman who learned early and who can only go one way and that is up for her future.
