Ahead of small business Saturday, Sara Eisen sat down with American Express CEO Stephen Squeri to discuss the state of consumer spending, the economy, his outlook for 2025 and the company’s big growth this year. American Express pioneered small business Saturday in 2010 and in 2011, the Senate unanimously passed a resolution in support of the program. The day has grown into an annual holiday shopping tradition.
