Perfectionists set a money goal, only to discover their underlying belief of not being good enough. This creates a conflict of using the goal against yourself to prove this belief true.
On today's episode, I teach you why you hate your money goals. Money goals are often set to feel proud, secure, and happy, but often end up being a source of resentment. We need to be honest with ourselves when setting goals, acknowledge our accomplishments, and feel proud and secure in the present.
"Our brains care more about being right about who we are and how we behave than they do about being curious about the world."
In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. What is the underlying reason for setting a money goal if we know we can't actually meet it?
2. How can we stop ourselves from becoming perfectionists when striving to reach our goals?
3. What are the ways we can feel proud, secure, happy, and relaxed in the present moment, even if we haven't met our goals yet?

I think that debt is not a moral issue. Whether you have debt, you never use debt, you pay off all of your debt, or you always have some money that is owed to someone else. None of these make you a good or bad person.
So if debt is an objectively neutral thing, how do we want to think about it? I leave that up to you. If you're a business owner, maybe you see it as a tool or a resource. If you've got personal debt, maybe you feel camaraderie with the millions of other people who do as well.
Let me know how you think about debt!

The most FAQ of all FAQ I receive is whether you should classify your workers as employees or contractors. I understand why people would want to just pay everyone as a contractor and send them a 1099 at the end of the year. However, there are regulations for proper classification. I'm going over those with you today to help you determine how to pay your workers appropriately, and why.

I felt called to record a bonus episode this week to talk about this false binary many people find themselves in.
Either you believe that you have to work for somebody else, or you can start your own business, and these are the only two ways you can make money, and that both of them suck! A lot of people think they have to choose which one they think will be less stressful or anxiety-inducing. And many of us have been socialized to think that business ownership is outside of our skill set and capabilities.
Well I'm busting these myths today. Because these aren't the only two ways to make money, and you don't have to pick the least painful option! Listen to find out my thoughts on being a business owner versus finding a job that has everything you want. It doesn't matter which one you pick.
But if you want to start your own business, then we need to talk! Because what you have to put out in the world must be very important and unique. And I want to help you manage that. Get on a consult call with me here and then download my free receipt organization guide Chaos to Calm.
I'm teaching you the four C's you must consider before you hire an independent, third-party bookkeeper: Cost, Competence, Challenge, and Culture (or Communication). I hope this helps you narrow down and choose a bookkeeper that's right for you!
