This week, Stephen Guzman returns to talk with us about Stanley Kubrick's final Masterpiece, Eyes Wide Shut. A hybrid mix of a dreamy Christmas, erotic thriller, and horror film about marriage, sex, money, and desire. 

In the very first Monolith Holiday Special we discuss the religious symbolism in the film The Polar Express (2004). We also discuss the ethics of telling your kids about Santa Claus.  

On our first episode of season 2 we discuss the recent move by Warner Bros to release their entire 2021 slate of films on HBO Max the same day they open in theaters. What will this move mean for other distributors, and will it be the first step towards the demise of going to see a film in theaters?  

This week is the season one finale of the Monolith Filmcast and to go out with a BANG we are joined by two special guests to discuss the Twilight Saga. Great friends of the show, Edgar and Alex (two of the biggest Twihards, and representatives from the Team Edward and Team Jacob camps) give us their hottest takes on one of the most divisive franchises of all time . We also share some of our cringiest early memories of Twilight.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Season one is nearing a close, and this week for our last Halloween season episode we have a spoiler filled discussion of The Haunting of Bly Manor. 

This week we visit another major staple in the horror world, this time we discuss the nine films of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, and discuss what the future might hold for Freddy Krueger. 

This week we are joined once again by Calista to discuss the history of witches in film, from Haxan and the Wizard of Oz to the Blair Witch sequel and Suspiria (2018). We also talk about the night that we discovered we had been cursed!
