I’ll elaborate ☝🏾 Let me start off by saying you don’t necessarily HAVE to switch up or forego anything that you may have done before you transitioned. If you still like that floral scent you used to wear before you grew a beard, wear it!! Do wtf you want at the end of the day. But if youre anything like me?? You’re cultivating a whole new, different person and lifestyle as you transition. And with the bodily and mental changes that come with it, adjusting your routine and ways of doing/being are lowkey essential. For me, I transitioned to be better aligned with my identity as a man. I’m still figuring out what that looks like in my everyday life, all while trying my best to avoid certain traditional ways of being. Having said that, as you medically transition, you most definitely have to switch up some of the things you used to do before starting testosterone. That skin care and shower routine should be priority 💀, the hormonal change and (sometimes) imbalance is real and it’ll show real fast unless its tamed, but thats for another video lmao. On another hand, the mental health aspect is real as well. Many of us don’t notice these changes outside of the physical ones. But our entirety…sort of changes lmao. The way you feel/express emotions, the way you think, the way you cope…it’s all a bit different after transitioning. Not immediately, but definitely over-time. It’s super important to keep these things in mind as you transition and find personal/comfortable ways of taking care of yourself. And honestly, being on top of these routines and ways of living makes you feel really good, and it helps you feel like you’re in control of yourself and your life.
