Her body was found in the house's basement about seven hours after she had been reported missing. She had sustained a broken skull, and a garrote was tied around her neck. The autopsy report stated that JonBenét's official cause of death was "asphyxia by strangulation associated with craniocerebral trauma". Her death was ruled a homicide. The case generated worldwide public and media interest, in part because her mother Patsy Ramsey, a former beauty queen, had entered JonBenét into a series of child beauty pageants. On December 15, 2015, Gypsy’s boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, murdered Blanchard’s mother Dee Dee at their Springfield, Missouri home. Gypsy had allowed Godejohn access to the home when she and Dee Dee were at a doctor’s appointment. She provided Godejohn with a knife, gloves, and duct tape to facilitate the crime. Blanchard pled guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. She was released on parole on December 28, 2023, after serving 8 years. Godejohn was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Gypsy Rose Blanchard allegedly suffered from years of abuse at the hands of her mother Dee Dee, who maintained that Gypsy Rose suffered from muscular dystrophy, cancer, and numerous other ailments. Dee Dee frequently shaved Gypsy’s head, telling her that since she was suffering from cancer, her hair would fall out anyway. There are enough layers of the proverbial onion here for several books! Pamela Ann Smart (née Wojas; born August 16, 1967) is an American woman who was convicted of being an accomplice to first-degree murder, conspiracy to murder, and witness tampering in the death of her husband, Greggory Smart, in 1990. Smart, then aged 22, had conspired with her underaged boyfriend, then 15-year-old William "Billy" Flynn, and three of his friends to have Greggory murdered in Derry, New Hampshire.
