Tonight, we continue the life of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, as the long road from Mecca finally opens into a new chapter:

Madina.

A city waiting.

A people watching the horizon.

But triumph is followed by another lesson.

At Uhud, the Muslims begin with the advantage, only for a single act of disobedience to change the course of the battle.

The archers leave their positions.

The enemy circles behind.

Confusion spreads.

The Prophet ﷺ is wounded.

Hamza is martyred.

And the believers learn that faith does not remove the consequences of mistakes.

Then comes perhaps the greatest threat Madina has faced.

Thousands of enemy soldiers surround the city.

There are too few Muslims to fight them in open battle.

So Salman al-Farsi offers an unfamiliar strategy:

Dig a trench.

For weeks, the believers break through hard earth with their own hands.

The Prophet works beside them.

Hunger grows.

Cold winds sweep across the city.

And outside the trench waits an army large enough to erase Madina from the map.

Inside, fear and betrayal threaten to open another front.

Yet the city holds.

Then, in the darkness of the siege, the wind begins to rise.

Tents collapse.

Fires disappear.

The enemy alliance fractures.

And the army that came to destroy Madina turns back into the desert.

Tonight, we continue the life of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, through one of the most emotional and transformative chapters of the Seerah.

It begins with loss.

The Prophet loses his beloved wife Khadijah, the first person to believe in him and the one who comforted him from the very beginning.

Then he loses Abu Talib, his uncle and lifelong protector.

Mecca grows harsher.

The streets feel colder.

And the protection that once surrounded him begins to disappear.

Still, he continues.

Seeking new hearts, the Prophet travels to Taif with Zayd ibn Haritha, hoping that perhaps another city will receive the message Mecca has rejected.

Instead, he is mocked, driven out, and wounded by stones until blood fills his sandals.

Yet even in that moment, he does not ask for revenge.

He hopes that one day, from the descendants of those who rejected him, there may arise people who worship Allah alone.

Then, after one of the lowest moments of his earthly journey, something extraordinary happens.

The heavens open.

In the miraculous Night Journey and Ascension — Isra and Mi‘raj — the Prophet travels from Mecca to Jerusalem and then beyond the heavens.

He meets Adam, Yahya, Isa, Yusuf, Idris, Harun, Musa, and Ibrahim, peace be upon them all.

He reaches the boundary of Sidrat al-Muntaha.

And there, his community receives one of its greatest gifts:

the five daily prayers.

Back on earth, another door begins to open.

People from Yathrib hear the message and believe.

Secret pledges are made at Aqaba.

Families in Yathrib begin embracing Islam.

And slowly, a city hundreds of miles away becomes a place of hope.

Then comes the night when everything changes.

The Quraysh decide that Muhammad ﷺ must be killed.

Young men surround his home.

‘Ali lies in his bed beneath his cloak.

And while the assassins wait outside, the Prophet quietly leaves Mecca with Abu Bakr.

They hide in the Cave of Thawr.

Search parties draw frighteningly close.

A reward is placed on their heads.

Suraqa races through the desert hoping to capture them, only to discover that something far greater than gold is unfolding before him.

And step by step, the Prophet moves away from the city that rejected him and toward the city that will soon welcome him.

This is Part Three of the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, a story of grief, wonder, courage, trust, and the beginning of the Hijrah.

The man known to Mecca as Al-Ameen had been chosen to carry a message that would reach far beyond the mountains surrounding his city.

A demand was spoken.

And the head of a prophet became the price paid for a ruler’s weakness and a court’s corruption.

Yet Yahya’s death was not the end of his message.

His life became a reminder that truth can be imprisoned, but it cannot be defeated. A throne may appear powerful for a moment, but the courage of a sincere servant can echo through generations long after palaces have fallen into dust.
