In another Canadian cultural exchange I sit down with Mike Frumon to talk about his reflections on growing up outside of Toronto, What makes Vancouver different to him, and if its really true that everyone plays Hockey in Canada. We also dig into his first visit to the United States, his views on his southernly neighbors, and some of the similarities and differences he see’s between our two countries.

One of the larger concert venues in Vancouver I discuss the PNE Forum in a rare negative review. I give a quick explanation of the layout of the venue and why the Rezz concert we attended there didn’t blow us away. As always this episode features the award winning Pat Reads Wikipedia segment.

Probably my favorite place in Vancouver. I review all of what makes Pacific Spirit Park one of my favorite city parks I have ever been too. In this episode I discuss the tranquility and escape from city life the park provides as well as why I think the crisscrossed network of trails is such a gift to runners, walkers, and bikers. During a bumpy and stormy ferry ride back from Vancouver Island my delightful co-host and girlfriend Anja Proske joins me to talk about our week on the island. In the Pat Chat for the week of 12/12/18 we discuss our road trip from Victoria up through Qualicom Beach and out to the beloved town of Tofino. We also dive into hostel life and some of the places we enjoyed staying on our travels.

The Cleveland Dam and Capilano River Regional Park are two gems of North Vancouver. The dam has been used in various television shows and offers a dizzying view down to the river canyon below. I talk about the dam and the many trails in the park in this travel review. I also dive into the famous Capilano suspension bridge and how much I love the view of the Lions Peaks that looks down on the reservoir above the dam.
