The trio go through the annual OMM guide training expectations and why we find it is so important to have a program like this and how essential we feel it is to the success and building of our group. In addition our host announces that the team as established the annual "Guy Randlett Guide Award" that will be given annually to one guide from OMM Outfitters to a person who best encompasses the spirit, faith, humbleness and character of our dear friend and mentor who has left this world to go home and be with Jesus. The team proudly shares that the first ever award winner is team member Matt Duquette who's humble nature, moose hunting skill and personal character embody so much of what our beloved friend was all about. Episode 45 marks the first episode of year three of the moose hunt podcast! To celebrate, host Chris Richards sits down with and old friend Brent West for a great conversation about conserving lands, protecting access and getting in the game to fight for our sporting traditions. Brent is the Executive Director of the High Peaks Alliance and makes it his life's work to protect some of the most amazing regions and natural resources of Maine for ALL people to use, explore and experience. The group then shares some moose hunting stories and the fact that Chris just pulled his third Maine Moose permit. In closing the pair announces they will be two folks helping to pull of the 2025 Maine Moose Lottery festival in Farmington, ME and that listeners who send in ideas for the event will be entered for a drawing of a free Moose Hunt Podcast swag bag.
