  • Understanding Social Pecking Orders within a Working Group - Season 1: How to Gauge Morale? (1.6)

    Social pecking order tells us the hierarchy, or the level of influence, within a group. Knowing the social pecking order in a workplace, which can be different than people's titles, will help determine how we can drive influence within a group by selecting the right people to speak to. 

     After discussing the importance of social pecking order, we dive into how to identify who is the most influential individual and who are their closest supporters.

    Over the past several episodes, we discussed how to gauge morale BETWEEN two other people. This episode will focus on gauging morale WITH another individual. Alternatively phrased, we will be looking at the morale between someone else and us, as opposed to two other individuals.


    Recall that our overall goal is gauge morale from other individuals towards us. Understanding relationships between others and with others is the foundation of building this knowledge. We will continue to build this foundation by further discussing time and attention.
