The theme we’ll be covering here today is Sexual Discrimination and the lack of opportunity for young women playing football. Our guest today is Leanne Forker. Born in Scotland, Leanne has played football at a Competitive level since the age of 7 and currently plays for the Oakville Blue Devils in League 1 Ontario (highest level in women’s soccer in Canada).

Like all time periods there are scams and restrictions that have been placed upon certain communities that are not upheld by others. Today we will be looking at the effects of SUS (Search Under Suspicion) laws that were placed on the Black community, as well as popular scams and crime that were going on in the '80s.

The theme we’ll be covering here today titled – isms within the Jamaican community back in the early 80s. Strange title I know, this basically intends to cover not just the racism exhibited within the black community towards others, but themselves as well.

In this episode, we discuss not only issues around amateur soccer and the social issues throughout England during the late 1970s, early 1980s but also the ways in which the black community found entertainment. We’ll be approaching the subjects from the perspective of black amateur footballers.’
