This episode is dedicated to the movement; BLACK LIVES MATTER. Although this is not a new problem in our world, my intent is for this conversation to spark many more conversations and motivate the actions needed to bring about REAL CHANGE.
George Perry Floyd Jr. (October 14, 1973 – May 25, 2020) was an African-American man who was killed by police during an arrest in Minneapolis on May 25, 2020. Protests in response to both Floyd's death, and more broadly to police violence against other African-Americans, quickly spread across the United States and internationally.
Floyd grew up in Houston, Texas. He excelled in football and played other sports throughout high school and college. At 6 ft 4 in his friends and family called him Perry, and characterized him as a "gentle giant". (Source: Wikipedia)
In this episode I sit down with Ferin Kidd; a powerful voice with a GREAT message! He is the CEO of, The Black OC, an up and coming non-profit creative movement utilizing the power of hip-hop to establish UNITY and promote a higher standard for urban culture.
Listen up to find out more about the movement and how quickly Ferin made up his mind to TAKE ACTION and get the support to go to the scene where George Floyd was murdered. Not only that, he also created a grass roots fund to be able to document and time stamp some of the protests in Minneapolis.
