The Misfortunates are in for another one of Marty's Mindblowers! Each time he opens his eyes in the chaos-magic infused depths of Bolas' citadel, reality warps around him. These warps create bubbles of space-time that contain vivid and Very Real memories of his various planar hops. 

But someone has taken offense at Marty's presence, and tried to assassinate him when the party was elsewhere investigating a way deeper in.

Was it Nicol Bolas? One of the denizens of the past come through a Mindblower portal? Or is it one of the many cohorts the Friends of Ravnica brought along? They all know Marty was partly responsible for bringing Nicol Bolas here, and have no love lost for him. 

Marty was only mortally injured and may recover, but it seems FORC have a murder mystery on their hands.

(Apologies in advance - microphone was not working properly for the first 40ish minutes of this recording. Thankfully not much was missed, but I always hate to lose out on the dulcet tones of my friends.)

and survived a brush with death against the Big Cheese of the greater village area of Shadowgrange, 

our heroes pressed on, using the note and key recovered (from the nest of the sniper who'd tried to pick them off) to finally sus out the location of the church where anna's sister was being held.

Along the way, they learned a bit more about The Merchant Of Menace; another disciple of The Trapper.

Carina makes some new friends, Anna tries to pet a dog, and Loren gets his leg caught in a bear trap.

The Friends of Ravnica fight tooth and nail in their climactic battle against Massacre Girl.

Alpha bargains with a demon, Gabriel helps Marty deal with his past, and it looks like Vali's GONNA HAVE TO JUMP...!

Shadowgrange.

Far to the west of the known continent of Innistrad, butting right up against the mountain range in Stensia that rings the coastline.

Shadowgrange isn’t one settlement so much as a larger fiefdom within Stensia.

Plague has come to Shadowgrange. It turns those it infects into hive minded maniacs who wouldn’t be out of place in The Purge.

Anna’s sister has been captured and locked in a big stone church by the hivemind.

The party met a member of the Afflicted who was a lot taller and more broad shouldered than the other humans; Wearing a WWI style dark grey trench coat with a bald scarred head and a big Rasputin beard.

Only one of his eyes glows like an orange coal like the rest of the Afflicted. The other was a rheumy grey. Esperanza, the party's vampiric ally, called him "The Big Cheese."

He spewed toxic grey smog out of his chest and put most of the party to sleep. Butler and Loren escaped and then rescued the rest of the party after they got slept and captured.

The party also met a mysterious disciple of the Trapper. He seems able to manipulate and move through the hive mind of the afflicted, but isn’t feral like them.

The Merchant of Menace magically possessed corpses and sold weapons and upgrades and other things to the party, appearing after big battles. He trades in teeth as well

The misfortunates also re-encountered Esperanza DeMontier, who’d stolen someone else’s identity and then been captured by the Afflicted.  The party got the lowdown on the plague and its traits from Eda Vaughn, a plague doctor who lost her legs while investigating the region on behalf of the church of Avacyn.  After a few close calls, Eda and Esperanza formed a two-man scouting party and set off on their own.

When it seemed Loren and Alaric were going to die in battle, Mathias embraced his inner alpha werewolf to save them by force.  They began calling him Saihtam (Shy Tom). Because he was like a separate personality from Mathias who had no memory of him.  It’s been a day and for some reason he hasn’t changed back yet…

Carina gets more than she bargained for when she scouts ahead, Anna finds herself between a chainsaw and a hard place, Butler gets invited to a sniper duel on short notice.

Pitch deep in the penultimate battle for their world, the Friends of Ravnica Coalition contends with massacre girl piloting a biotech armored wurm siege weapon and the combined might of Ulamogarruk and Okozilek.

Jeffe puts his foot in someone's mouth, Vali doesn't listen to his wife, and Alpha gets a hand.

The Misfortunates are in hot water, with over half their number captured by the Afflicted and whatever nefarious hivemind guides their twisted grasp.

Loren and Butler have tracked their missing friends to a precarious cliffside village where they hope to spring their comrades from captivity. It's a long way down the crumbling sandstone cliffs. Watch your step...

Norric goes full mask off, Alaric fires into a crowd, Anna jumps off a cliff.

The Misfortunates delver deeper into the once-thriving fiefdom known as Shadowgrange, and try to uncover what happened there--while fighting for their lives.

Carina chases ghosts, Loren charges headfirst into danger, and Butler gets out of the way.

Dumped on Nicol Bolas' doorstep, the party must face off against Massacre Girl and the Eldrazi 3: Nissamrakul, Ulamogarruk and Okozilek.

Alpha phones a friend, Vali gets a hug from his wife, and Louise has a little stranger on the way.

Our heroes find themselves in the depths of what was once the fiefdom of Shadowgrange, bread basket of Stensia. However, a plague has transformed its populace into mindless savages who snap into military formation with hivemind efficiency when they are threatened. What controls these humble folk and spurs them into inhuman fervor?

Our heroes hope to find out, before it spreads to all of Innistrad.
