This week we conclude THE HOLLY-JOLLY-THON with HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS (2000). A movie that reminds all of us that Jim Carrey is a gem and also that the Grinch is a mad genius. It's also a movie that reminds us that, "Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas...means a little bit more." THE HOLLY-JOLLY-THON continues with THE CHRISTMAS CHRONICLES. A Christmas movie set in a world where Kurt Russell is a leather jacket wearing Santa Claus. And not only that, THIS Saint Nicholas is a lead singer of a band. No joke...theres a whole song and everything. It is BY FAR the strangest part of this movie. Oh AND one of the characters owns and uses an old Sony Handicam to record her misadventures with Santa. And that was the first video camera that I owned as I kid. Soooo I think it's safe to say that this movie got a lot right.

Today we continue THE HOLLY-JOLLY-THON with THE PRINCESS SWITCH. A movie that takes place during Christmas for no apparent reason. In it, Vanessa Hudgens plays a baker from Chicago AND a duchess...WITH an accent. Yes, you read that right. Vanessa Hudgens plays TWO main characters. TWO! Annnd BOY OH BOY things get WACKY. So get that hot chocolate ready and the ginger bread out of the oven because you'll want to cozy up for this one...

HO-HO-HOO BOY! The tree is up, the stockings are out and we're counting the days until Christmas by embarking on THE HOLLY-JOLLY-THON! 4 Christmas movies in 4 weeks. We start our journey with A CINDERELLA STORY : CHRISTMAS WISH. A story that is half a Cinderella Story, half a Christmas movie and fully ridiculous. A movie about a young aspiring singer/holiday elf who falls in love with the new Santa (who looks nothing like Santa). Oh, also there's singing. I can't forget to mention the lyrics, "TOYS TOYS TOYS" Yeah...Those are the lyrics to one of the songs. It's about toys...Yep...It's a HOOT!

"ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM! Make my heart go, BOOM BOOM. My super nova girl!" And by girl, we're talking about ZENON : GIRL OF THE 21ST CENTURY. A Disney channel original movie chock-full of bad 90s CGI, indecipherable future lingo and Raven Symone. Cetus-Lupeedus, you won't wanna miss this! 

What whaaat SODIUM CHLORIDE is in the house! Also known as, NaCl and Angelinie with a Beanie...Or should I say, super secret government spy Evelyn Salt? I don't know. We gave her many names. Regardless, it's safe to say that Angelina Jolie is here to kick some butt as a government spy in the Action film SALT. Yep, that's it. That's the title.  

What could be more exciting than Johnny Depp as a math teacher? What about Johnny Depp as a math teacher...in Europe? Well, all you gotta do now is take that combination, throw in Angelina Jolie and BAM we get THE TOURIST. A romantic thriller about an American tourist who visits Italy to fall in love with a stranger on a train. You know how those American math teachers are...If a train is going down the tracks at 100mph and Angelina Jolie sits down next to you. What is the probability of Johnny Depp falling in love? The answer is C. Very High. 

Alllright! Sit back with your tray tables up and seats securely fastened because it's time for take off. I hope that your luggage is settled in the overhead bins because we're piloting the aircraft towards mid 90s Action with the thrill-ride AIR FORCE ONE. "Harrison Ford Action Star" guides us through this commentary track filled with silly bits and goofs. This is a good one! So, buckle up and listen or we'll point you to the exit doors and politely ask you to GET OFF MY PLANE!
