WHAT HAPPENED 

Friday, May 14th- Ladies Night- Red River Valley Speedway 

Chris Vanmil picked up his first win of the season in the Sportmods.  So did Brennan Borg in the Stock Cars.  Tye Wilke doubled up by winning both the Legends and 305 Sprint features.  Brodee Eckerdt picked up the Hobby Stock win.  And Pahrump, NV Kollin Hibdon won in the Modifieds. 

Saturday, May 15th-Season Opener-Jamestown Speedway 

The Unintentional Roll Over Contest has a new leader when Brady Jawaski flipped 3 times off the back of turns 1 and 2 earning 12 points.  He was OK which is the best news. After the dust settled the big winners were Noah Lewis in the Slingshots, Dylan Sandberg in the Bombers, “The Nightmare” Lucas Rodin in the Midwest Modifieds, Alex Kukowski in the Legends, Jonny Carter in the Street Stocks, and Casey Arneson in the Modifieds. 

Sunday, May 16th-Season Reopener-Buffalo River Speedway 

The return of the Buffalo River Speedway kicked off with Scott Herron winning in the Hobby Stocks.  Then Kelly Jacobson picked up what will be the most popular win of the season finishing in front of his father just 8 days after tragically losing his five-month son.  The first ever Limited Late Model winner at BRS was Ben Wolden.  Kollin Hibdon picked up his second Modified win of the weekend.  And the night capped off with Devin Goulet winning in the Short Trackers. 

NASCAR 

Hendrick Motorsports achieved the first ever top 4 team sweep in Dover, DE Sunday.  Alex Bowman took advantage of a great late race pit stop to finish ahead of Kyle Larson, Chase Elliot, and William Byron to ern his second win of the year.  Winless Denny Hamlin finished 7th and added to his point lead which is now 101 over William Byron.  This weekend the NASCAR Cup Series will make their first ever appearance at their second of 6 road courses this year at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX this Sunday.   

SCHATZ WATCH 

Carson Macedo grabbed the win Friday and Aaron Reutzel did the same Saturday at Williams Grove, PA.  And Logan Schuchart on Wednesday at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park, NJ.  Donny Schatz is still looking for that illusive win but picked up a 4th, 8th, and another 4th in the 3 races run this week.  Brad Sweet still sits atop the points with a 68-point lead over David Gravel.  Schatz sits in 6th, 144 points out of first.  They will head out to Attica Raceway Park Friday and The Sharon Speedway in Hartford OH Saturday.

There are community rummage sales in Arthur, Hunter and Moorhead tomorrow. The Linebenders are celebrating their 20th Anniversary with an improv show Saturday.  A couple of comedians are in town for a show tonight and it's Kidsfest is in Moorhead tomorrow.  "Man About Town" J.J. WHAT HAPPENED 

Friday, May 7th-Red River Valley Speedway Season Opener-West Fargo, ND 

Scott Jacobson started off the night by picking off the Sportmod win.  Then Travis Robertson won a hard-fought Stock Car feature which saw our 1st entrant into the unintentional roll over contest when Tyler McDoughall tipped over on his roof for 2 points.  Sean Johnson parked it in victory lane in the Legends.  Then Cory Probst charged up from 9th starting spot to claim the Hobby Stock win.  Casey Arneson battled his way through traffic to win in the Modifieds. And Ty Hanten became the first IMCA 305 Sprint Car feature winner at RRVS. 

Saturday, May 8th-Viking Speedway 56th Season Opener-Alexandria, MN 

The Saurer Brothers both picked up wins with Travis winning in the Midwest Mods, and Trevor in the Super Stocks.  “The Ripper” Ryan Satter made a last corner pass to win in the Street Stocks.  And Dusty Bitzan capped off the weekend with the Modified win. 

NASCAR 

Martin Truex became the 1st driver to repeat again after his Darlington win Sunday.  Truex picked up win number 3 but is still 75 points behind the winless Denny Hamlin.  The NASCAR Cup series travels to the Monster Mile in Dover, DE Sunday at 1pm. 

SCHATZ WATCH 

Donny Schatz picked up a pair of 3rd places Friday and Saturday at the Eldora Speedway and a 5th Wednesday at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA.  Schatz will still be looking for win number 300 tonight at the Williams Grove Speedway in PA. 

WHAT’S UP 

Tonight-Ladies Night at the Red River Valley Speedway, West Fargo at 7pm.  Also I94 Speedway in Fergus Falls at 7pm and River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks at 7pm. 

Saturday- Jamestown Speedway Season Opener at 7pm, Viking Speedway has Late Models starting at 6:30, and North Central Speedway at 6:45. 

Sunday-The return of the Buffalo River Speedway after a year off starting at 6 just east of Glyndon on Highway 10.  As well as the Season Opener at the Sheyenne Speedway 6pm in Lisbon.
