The proof that you are transformed in Christ is that you love to do what you ought to do. That’s freedom in Christ.

“For freedom, Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1).

If you want to stop an addiction you must be able to replace the time you use to engage in that addiction with something else. However, it is the triumphant power and transformation of the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ — our Savior, our Lord, our Treasure that makes it possible.

Romans 12:2

One of the litmus-test that your mind is being renewed and you are transformed is that you can discern what is the sovereign will of God as well as the revealed will of God.

The word TRANSFORMATION is used one time in all the gospels, namely, about Jesus on the mountain of transfiguration (i.e the mountain of “transformation” — same word, metemorphōthē): “And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light” (Matthew 17:2; Mark 9:2).

This gives us a clue to how a believer can be transformed using 2 Cor 3:18 as a reference "As we behold in a glass the glory of God we are changed i.e transformed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of God"

Romans 12:2

We have been translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Christ Jesus in whom we have redemption and freedom through his blood and even the forgiveness of sins (Col 1:13-14)

Renewing your mind and transformation comes into the picture where the word of God begins to change your thoughts to embrace who you are in Christ and what you have in Christ

It's one thing for you to be free in Christ LEGALLY by the finished works of Christ and it's another thing for you to WALK IN THE EXPERIENTIAL REALITY OF THAT FREEDOM IN CHRIST.

This is where renewing your mind and transformation comes into the picture where the word of God begins to change your thoughts to embrace who you are in Christ (You are the son and daughter of Zion, you are not a victim of fear and depression, sickness, diseases, death, you have a sound mind in Christ, you are rich in Christ Jesus) and what you have in christ (You have the name of Jesus, you have the blood of Jesus, you have the inheritance of Christ).

Romans 12:2

You need to be intentionally conscious about what you feed your mind with.

Transformation and renewal of the mind is the name given to the salvation of your soul

The soul is the spirit in partnership with the mind. According to Hebrews 4:12, The word of God pierces even to the dividing asunder of the soul and the spirit which is suggestive of the fact that the soul and spirit are connected together

It is possible to have received the life of God i.e you are saved but within the realm of your mind and soul you are not, hence the reason why you have to read the word of God, pray, go to church

Romans 12:2

Have you ever asked yourself, where your thoughts, emotions, and ability to make choices, feel pain, and feel love come from? How are you able to think and reason? Where do your mindset and perspectives come from? How can you be conscious of your environment and the things around you?

Your mind is the power bank that houses your will, emotions, and intellect. The Will controls your ability to make choices, your emotions control how you relate with the impulses in this physical realm and your intellect controls your ability to understand logic and reasoning.

You can't rise above the boundaries of your mindset

Romans 12:2

Renewing your mind means embracing who you are in Christ and what you have in Christ as a way of life that affects the way you think, the way you speak, and the things you do through the word of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit

Metamorphosis is the Greek word for Transformation in Romans 12:2 which means a change in form or nature like the lifecycle of a Butterfly is suggestive that Renewing our mind is a continuous process, not an instant experience.

So the goal is to get to the point where we have attained the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ according to Ephesians 4:12-13

Why does it seem difficult to abstain from sin, negative thoughts, and our old habits in the past?

And so it looks like every Sunday service we are forced to give our life to Christ during altar call because of our uncertainty

One reason is that people only believe in Jesus with their heads and not with their heart

The root cause however is because of the absence of a Renewed and transformed mind

Romans 12:2

Most times the devil tries to rob us of our in-christ realities through our ignorance of who we are in Christ and what we have in Christ

The greatest need of an unbeliever is Salvation.

The greatest need of a believer is Transformation that is a Renewed Mind

The greatest need for a transformed believer is Empowerment

The greatest for an empowered believer is Character and Humility

1 Thessalonians 5:23

How can we bridge the gap between a newborn believer and a mature believer?

As Christians, our focus is to grow spiritually after salvation till we all come unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ Ephesians 4:12-13

Also, God desires that we are sanctified wholly in spirit, soul, and body according to 1 Thessalonians 5:23 so we can the nature and character of Christ

Colossians 3:16
