Morning Psalm and Prayer

This insightful psalm pulls back the curtain on the unseen world and God's organizational structure. Shockingly we read that those appointed to uphold justice, fairness and God's agenda have not done so. God pronounces judgment on them for their rebellion. What does it mean for you? It means that there are rebellious forces in the unseen realm -- but God remains all powerful and all good!

God has spoken -- in HIs Word and by His Spirit. The Bible tells the stories of those who chose to listen to you -- and those who did not. One experienced your presence and reward - others went their own way and fell away from God. God from Heaven says, "If you would only listen!"

Have you ever bargained with God? Have you ever been in a jam and told God that if He would answer that you would serve Him faithfully? There are times when it seems that God is dull of hearing and slow to act. But God is Sovereign and Faithful. Choose to serve God faithfully today and let Him decide when and how to respond to your prayer.

Consider the infinite love of God that He chose to rescue us and atone for our sins! Live today to make His name great! Keep the faith and share the faith!

Parents have such an awesome privilege and responsibility to pass along the faith to their children -- so that the next generation might have confidence in God!

Are you in a storm of life? Are you wondering where God is as you face the storm? The psalmist had similar feelings -- and landed on an inspiring answer! Follow the Lord - His faithful character never changes. He is always leading His people - even if it's down a path that we would not have chosen.

There will come a day when God arises to rebuke the wicked unbelieving. On that same day He will save His people! And having established His throne in Zion, He will receive tribute from the kings of the earth... because He is the King of Kings!

On Christmas morning we take a break from Psalms to read from Luke's famous account of Jesus' birth, the angelic birth announcement, the angel choir and the visit of the shepherds. Be blessed by the Savior's birth today!

The Lord is the Judge ... there is coming a day of judgment. When? That's God's decision. He is giving time for everyone to turn to Him in repentance and faith. For today, God's name is near! His presence blesses His people!

Mockers and godless people are so brazen that they are willing to desecrate the sanctuary of God. The psalm is a prayer for God to arise and defend His people and the place of worship. There will be a day of justice and retribution. For now, we pray for the protection of God on your places of worship.
