  • Wuhan evacuees enter day six of quarantine
    It's day six for Wuhan evacuees quarantined at a navy training base in Whangaparaoa, north of Auckland.
    Last Wednesday, a government-chartered flight landed at Auckland with 98 New Zealand citizens and permanent residents and 69 people from Pacific Island and other countries.
    Since then, they've been settling in, adapting to life in campervans and finding ways to kill time.

    Netsafe's latest survey shows an alarming number of teenagers have been exposed to suicide and self harm materials online.
    Nearly half of the 2000 teenagers interviewed by NetSafe had seen harmful content, and a quarter of those surveyed were upset or bothered by something that happened online.

    The America's Cup has forced a colony of threatened red-billed seagulls to up sticks and find a new home on Auckland's waterfront.
    The birds had been breeding at an old boatyard, but that's being turned into a new ferry terminal to make space for the cup challengers.

  • Wellington at high risk of large fire if earthquake hits
    Fire crews would struggle to access water to fight blazes after a large earthquake in Wellington.
    They would be stopped from using the city's reservoirs because they would be needed for drinking water.
    A new GNS report released to RNZ has found there would be a significant risk of fire in the capital post-earthquake, because of its strong winds, steep slopes and old infrastructure.

  • NZ First MPs to face questions on donations
    New Zealand First MPs will face questions about donations this morning as the party stares down a Serious Fraud Office investigation.
    The Electoral Commission has been investigating the mysterious New Zealand First Foundation since reports by RNZ and Stuff late last year.
    The Commission's now concluded some donations were not properly handled or declared. It referred the case to police - which promptly directed it to the SFO.
    The move could have far-reaching consequences in an election year.
    RNZ political editor, Jane Patterson, joins us now.
