Loneliness affects everyone at some point. We look around and feel as if no cares or is willing to listen. But, we have One who is reliable! Always there! Never too busy! Ready to listen! Never distracted!

Jesus wasn’t quite finished. The plan of salvation was complete but the work would go on. The great commission to go would be given and the church would be built. The gospel message is born and we are go carry it forward.

News media continue to bombard us with story and story of what they feel is important to us and then we have to choose to listen to tune out. The story of Calvary is worthy of attention and we are the ones who need to be the ones telling it. Do not rely on the worldly news outlets to tell the truth of Calvary - we must share the story ourselves!

Reading into the scripture has to be done with care. Where the scripture is silent, I believe we have to be sure not to add beyond what God has said. There is opportunity to infer but not to add to or take away. What is “thus saith the Lord?”

Even on the cross, Jesus was about others. You and I, I doubt we would have even considered the life of others had we been the one placed on the cross in the manner that he wants. But Jesus, he was there because of us and was there for us and was there to forgive us.

We have to be very careful sometimes about our will compared to the father’s will. Our will can be a very dangerous path. So let’s not forget to look to the father’s will instead of ours.

So much of our prayer life is routine. But that of Jesus… In the garden of Gethsemane… It was far from routine; it was agonizing.

Overcoming the fear of rejection or the oppression of the ways of this world are oftentimes quite difficult. The resistant that the satanic forces put up to the spoken Word of God and to the witness of the Lord Jesus Christ by the Christian is powerful. We have to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome and give the Gospel to those who need it. Silence is many times equal to denial.

The journey to the cross was one of the most amazing weeks recorded in history. The world wants to forget about it but we need to spend time remembering it. Let’s take time this week to give thought to the cross of Calvary.

Everyone learns in different ways but in the end, we all require a teacher to learn something new. We have to have someone to Instruct us. When it comes to the Christian life, there’s no better teacher than the Holy Ghost who can teach us all things!
