God is so much bigger than all of us. He’s so much bigger than all that we can know and understand. The Bible says the world could not contain all the books that could be written about who Christ is and what he did when he walked this earth. Our minds would have difficulty comprehending all that God is. But I don’t believe he intends for us to have that. I believe the garden of Eden proves that. But what he does want us to know is that he loves us and gave his life for us that we may have eternal life with him. That is one piece of knowledge that is within our understanding.

I remember a soap opera that mom and my grandmother used to watch religiously. It began like this, “like sand through the hourglass, these are the days of our lives.“ That specifically makes reference to time. We see the clock, we know that it goes TickTock all day long, and we know that we are allotted a certain amount of “time“. But understanding time can be very difficult for us humans to do; God created time and is outside of time and is not bound by time. There was a “time“ before God said in the beginning. When we hear the word beginning that implies the start. But God was before… Again, our minds cannot comprehend all there is to know about God so by faith we move forward and hopefully use our times wisely.

Each of us will have a story about our life. No two stories will be the same. You and I are unique and who we are and what we experience. Each of us could write a book. And no one could write a book like yours. We have a story but there’s no greater story than that which was told to the shepherds... It’s a story familiar to us all and should never be forgotten.

No one likes to hear the phrase “learning patience”. Most will associate developing patience incurs difficulties and troubles to build that patience. Christian suffering is something this world does not grasp or understand. As the world does not understand the benefits of suffering we do not understand many of the things of this world. We are at opposition with the things of this world and our Christian suffering is a result of a world not understanding the ways of faith and trusting in a Sacior that we’ve never met.

When people enter into our home, they come through a particular door. Now we are familiar with all of our doorways in our home but visitors sometimes just can’t find the right one to get out! So you see, knowing the right way again is important. Choosing the right door to enter in the first time is always best. Jesus says, “I am the door of the sheep.“Of course we have to choose the right door and that is Christ.

Satan knows our every weakness that we voice and express. But he doesn’t know those that are internal to our self. You see, God knows us inside and out where as the devil, he can only react to what we have revealed. As a result, many of our Temptations brought on because of what we revealed to the devil himself. And when he comes to attack, he will go after our every weakness. Temptations have to be battled but they have to be battled spiritually, not physically and the only way to do that is to watch and pray, and to fire back with the word of God.

No matter how young or old or anywhere in between we may be, the Bible is alive and can speak to us each and everyone in our own way. When we read Psalm 23, we can see that it’s about the Lord being with us throughout life journey. He’s there when we need him he’s there when we need rejuvenation he’s there in our mourning time and he’s there in our prosperous times. And of course, he’s there when we reach the end of life’s journey and he takes us to the house of the Lord where we will dwell forever. He is our shepherd... so let’s follow Him now...

We all know that sometimes the punishment doesn’t match the crime. I’m actually thankful that the grace of God withholds punishment from me knowing that I have sinned against him time and time again. So you see, Grace is extended and is extended along with the mercy of God. Judgment could easily be passed on each and everyone of us today. But while the love of God is being extended and shown across this world, grace is given and the sentence is being withheld. You and I were sentenced to death for our sins with the grace of God showed up and saved our souls from the judgment of God for our sins. You and I can learn to show Grace even when it’s not merited and withhold judgment for you and I will be judged by the same judgment ourselves. Give grace and give grace abundantly

2020 has been a year of great division. It’s really sad to see people disagree with each other in so many ways and the time that we’re living. And the disagreements are manifested in our words. Our body is designed to work together to maintain a stable state of being. You and I however, get out of sync between body soul and spirit. Our tongue and our heart are intricately joint spiritually and many times malfunction! Let’s close the year by putting the heart and tongue back together in a more synchronous manner that is for good, that is, blessings, not cursing’s.

Our words can be so powerful but at the same time very destructive. Our ears are very beneficial to us and need to be used far more than our tongue. It’s our words that can get us in trouble really quick and many times we do not think before we speak. Many times what we blame our memory for, is actually us not listening to begin with! We may be so concerned with what we need to say, that we simply just do not hear what the other person is saying. I believe this is something we all can work on.
