John was called the beloved. He was the one that was there at the cross. He was the one found in the bosom of Jesus time and time again. John knew what it meant to be with Jesus and a very intimate and personal way. He knew what it meant to abide and to be in fellowship and you and I can learn to be both as well.

This year has been a challenge from the perspective of socializing and getting together and showing affection one toward another.  A handshake is to be avoided, a hug is frowned upon and we are to do our best to keep our distance.  That's counter intuitive for the church and for the family.  We need togetherness!  We should desire togetherness as a family and as the family of God in the house of God.

Anticipation brings excitement. We can’t wait for a moment in time to occur. Sweaty palms, racing hearts, fast breathing... and it seems as if it will never come ... and then, it happens. One day, something major is going to happen... and will you be ready for His arrival...

We all have room to grow. And I’m not speaking physically; I’m speaking spiritually. And for someone we love, that spiritual growth may need to come in the fashion of salvation! Either way, we have a duty to be the gardener. We need to be planning the seed or doing the watering and then we can watch God do the growing!

Charles Spurgeon often spoke of the greatness of the sickbed and have been in a situation of disability that our hearts were softened to the point of truly searching for Jesus. Let’s not let the sickbed be the only time we look up to the hills from whence cometh your help.

We all have to come to the knowledge that we are in need of a Savior!  Our first step to heaven is one of acknowledgement of our sin nature in need of a sin saver!  Christ was born in Bethlehem so that we could have a home in Heaven.  He came to save when no one else was interested in doing so...

Hide and seek as a kid was fun.  It was all about being able to find a place where no one could find you.  I wasn't very good at it and was usually found very quickly.  When it comes to our spiritual life, we can't run and hide from the Lord.  He knows us oh too well...

Perspective: it’s very important when trying to see the whole picture of what’s going on around us. I cannot imagine the feelings and situations that Moses was in but I believe we see how he dealt with all the was happening... he saw God. He understood life from God’s viewpoint. Maybe we should do the same.

God’s word is forever settled in heaven. He said that in Psalm 119 verse 89. He also said in Titus chapter 1 that he cannot lie. So you see the truth is godliness and godliness is the truth. We should forever desire to know the truth to share the truth and to live the truth. Man seems to change with the wind but God is never changing; let’s stick with God who we know is always going to be right.

All of us have moments we wish we could get back and do over again.  We use the phrase, "I regret that I didn't..." and you can fill in the blank.  Looking back, we all can say we have events we can learn from so let's truly learn from them and not suffer the same regrets again... especially when it comes to our witness for Christ.
