We have a lot of questions that may or may not have answers.  Many will try to give answers.  The friends of Job tried to answer the issues of the trials of Job but they were way off base.  We never know the conversations of heaven and what may be happening in the "mind of God".  But by faith, we trust that He knows best.

"Proof is necessary to believe" is the philosophy of the world.  Our kids are being taught that scientific proof is necessary for us to believe in creation and that simply having faith in something isn't enough.  Faith is the substance (tangible) of things (material) hoped for, the evidence (proof) of things (material) not seen.  (Words added for emphasis).  We have to show the generation to come what faith really is and doubt cannot be a part of that equation.

Being busy is not always being productive. This is true in the workplace and it is also true in the ministry. We need to live an active life as a Christian and do the works of the ministry but we can’t be so busy that we soon our wheel, accomplishing nothing. Our focus has to be on the works for the Lord and not for man and self.

As teenagers we despised rules. But they were necessary for our safety and now as parents we see that a lot more clearly. As adults today, we don’t necessarily like all the government oversight many times, the rules are for our safety. The Bible, the rulebook of mankind, is for our ultimate safety. If we follow after God‘s word, we are sure to be eternally safe!

2020 led to the calling of God’s people to pray. To seek God is a mighty way and to turn from our terrible ways and to ask for forgiveness that He may show mercy. It’s the family of God that He calls upon to pray - not the world. We can’t blame the world for God not answering - it’s us - His people- who should be seeking and asking!

Looking back over the day, the week or even the year will sometimes reveal heartache and pain but other times joy and happiness. Either way, the past cannot be changed. The future lies ahead and is waiting for us to make an impact. Let’s press forward and do what God has called us to do!

Life and Death - two topics with lots of emotions.  Usually death brings the saddest of emotions until many years pass and then laughter begins to sneak in and good memories overcome the time of death.  Our life is recorded in the hearts of those we love.  They will remember who we are and what we stood for.  We may not be recorded in a book or a journal or a movie but we will be etched in the minds of those around us.

Have you ever paid for the meal of the one behind you in the drive thru line?  Have you ever pick up the tab of someone else at a restaurant just because?  Little things like these go a long ways in the spiritual health of mankind.  We never know what kind of day someone is having and just small tasks or efforts of affection can go far.  Let's work to do for others in 2021.

The City that never sleeps - the name given to New York City.  It's always active.  Such is the life of so many.  Never any down time.  Our lives are so full of activity, that we never find time to just rest - to rest the mind, to rest the soul, to rest the body.  When it comes to our sin, we have a new rest that we can find, far better than anything the Old Testament Saints could ever imagine as they worked the old sacrificial system to obtain a religious standard.  Christ is our rest; He takes upon Himself the price of our sin and pays the price - He bears the load that we may rest from our sin.

Not many people are left handed so they can been seen at a disadvantage in this predominately right handed world.  The world dwells on strengths and looks down upon weaknesses.  However, whether we want to admit it or not, we all have weaknesses, no matter how powerful or "important" we are.  From a president to a pauper, we can all be used by God and made strong in our perceived weakness.
