I’m sure most of us will agree that life is sometimes like a race. Hustle, bustle, constantly on the go… But one of the important things of that race is that you know where to start. We have to know the beginning… God’s word shows us the beginning of it all when it comes to life and who we are. There’s some instructions about a new beginning, a new life that has to be found in Christ.

Depending on our personality, loneliness may be a good thing or it may be a thing that is very depressing! Some people like to be alone but others can’t seem to do without the company of others. Regardless, loneliness is something we all have to deal with as do we have to deal with trials and troubles. David, Peter, and John, all dealt with it but I believe God was working on them during those times of separation. Maybe God is trying to separate you so that he could work on you.

Finding rest in this sleepless world is very difficult to do. Life is fast paced and sometimes overwhelming and tiring. Finding time to be still it’s very difficult to do. God wants us to find rest in Him.

Many of the sayings that we have today come directly from the Bible or they are patterned after scripture. One saying that I have always used is I’d rather be a live chicken than a dead duck meaning I’d rather be a little timid about things and called “chicken” for maybe running from fear than to hang around irresponsibly and be in danger. The Bible says that it’s better to be a living dog than a dead lion. We can have an influence while we’re living and can make changes occur but once this life is over, those opportunities are gone. Live life today while God is still giving you the opportunity to do.

Our eyes are an amazing organ they allow us to see things day in and day out. The Bible speaks of God watching over us and seeing everything that we do. Let us never take our physical or spiritual vision for granted.

Waiting. It’s a very difficult thing to do. I’m sure all of us have had issues with patience in the past and may have issues today! Regardless, God wants us to learn to wait on him so that he can move and he can do his work in a mighty way if we will just watch and wait.

Today, let us rejoice knowing that we have the privilege to walk through the doors of the church of our choosing without fear of persecution or prosecution. It’s not like that in other places yet we take walking through the doors of the church for granted.

Every generation seems to criticize the one before. But there is a responsibility of each generation to carry forward those things which are important. One thing is for sure, the love of God needs to carry forward from generation to generation.

We are so blessed by God in so many ways. One particular way, is that we are given spiritual gifts. God has chosen us for a work and for us to be successful in that work, we have to know what those gifts are. Everyone has at least one; find yours and use it to his glory.

It goes without saying that we have a lot of questions as we go through this life. One of them is very open ended and we asked the question why? I’m not sure we’ll have the answer to that this side of heaven for everything that we do and everything that we ask but I can rest assured knowing that God knows why that’s really all that matters.
