Memory expert Jim Kwik has a quote, "Fight for your limitations & you get to keep them." In this episode I explore the possibility of being able to do anything and the liberation that comes with dumping negative beliefs.
This is the first episode of the 2nd season. It finally felt right to bring the podcast back. Thank you all so much for your messages of encouragement and patience over the past few months. As always feel to tag me in your takeaways or message me with your questions. Love hearing from you all!
Stay blessed :)
On this episode I sit down with my Las Vegas friend and owner of El Jefe Deliveries LLC, Derrick. His health battles range from overcoming Pulmonary embolisms twice, a condition in which blood clots are formed in the lungs. Later on he was diagnosed with Lupus, an auto immune disease which he describes as unpredictable in symptoms. As if that weren't enough, he had multiple deaths occur within a short period of time, starting with his own father then other family members and close friends. Derrick reflects back to a point in his life when he wasn't able to walk due to the debilitating state he was in. That's enough to have anybody depressed! He discusses that what he was going through, was indoubtebly a result of the state of mind he was in. Derrick transitioned from taking 14 pills, feeling out of place in a hospital where he was the youngest one, to living his life medication free. There's so much perspective to be gained from Derrick's outlook and appreciation of life. He continues thriving, despite having Lupus, by his philosophy: One day at a time.

In this episode I will be discussing the ways I keep my mindset in check and how I manage to keep anxiety at bay. For years I've been a fan of fitness and nutrition but I will also be elaborating on how I use gratitude, being more child like, and taking time for myself. I truly believe this will resonate with anyone debating if self care is selfish. I spill the tea about being on Tea with Gary Lee, the good and the not so good.
Hope you all enjoy & yes! ...That was my 3yo Ali helping me in the intro ;)
