Jessica is a graduate of Mars Hill University and holds a degree in Fashion and Interior Merchandising. Most recently, she was the Director of Marketing and Business Development at Charlotte Premium Outlets.

Jessica was previously on the Board of Directors for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce South Chapter, as well as for Habitat for Humanity of Gaffney, SC. She was also an active member of the Junior League of Asheville for many years.

While she has a variety of interests and hobbies, Jessica and her husband are the proud parents of their son, Jackson, and are so happy to be back in the Asheville area, which they call home.

What I like most about Jessica is that on her profile with the Chamber, she lists Anything Sweet as her favorite food, and her favorite show was Downton Abbey when it was on!

Dr. Catherine Lok is a board-certified family medicine physician who is disrupting the primary care industry with her direct primary care clinic, RiverRock Clinic near Asheville NC. After completing her residency in Maine, instead of taking the safe bet of a cushy 200 thousand-a-year job, she decided to take the leap of entrepreneurial faith and open her clinic where she could practice medicine in alignment with her values, which include listening to her patients, using holistic medicine, and providing exceptional primary healthcare to those who otherwise cannot access it. Too often the LGBTQIA+, people of color, or people struggling with mental health are excluded from healthcare that is sensitive to their needs and challenges.

The idea to convey: pursuing your wellness as an entrepreneur should make your life EASIER not MORE COMPLICATED. As entrepreneurs we have enough on our plate we don’t need to ADD MORE It is more about letting your life INCLUDE wellness already as part of your structure. Three items that can help us do that: big things: Direct primary care and little things like setting an end time or end product for the day, scheduling wellness meetings with yourself.

Katie is a resident here in Asheville and founder of Pre-Op Solutions, which provides PREoperative home care throughout Western North Carolina.  As a healthcare worker with more than a decade of experience, she decided to move into the entrepreneurial space in early 2023. Michael’s professional history is widely diverse, ranging from running a solo computer consultancy to coding financial models at a San Francisco start-up to managing a 150-person global team at a 50k-person multinational company. Industries include oil fields, the Department of Defense, hobby retail, B2B sales, environmental activism, finance, and more. 

His current activities are likewise diverse. He is the Chair and Educational Events Manager for the Asheville chapter of SCORE. SCORE is a volunteer organization that helps people start and grow their small businesses.

Randee Brown's career path was more of a roundabout adventure than a direct line. After graduating from Savannah State University with a B.S. in Marine Science in 2006, she spent several years living in Florida, working for the National Marine Fisheries Service as a Commercial Fisheries Observer.

After three years traveling around the Southeast US, spending days or weeks at a time offshore, Randee relocated to Kauai to teach SCUBA diving. She also spent several months in Southeast Asia and taught SCUBA in Thailand.

It was after the birth of her son that Randee became a stay-at-home mother, moved to the Asheville area, and began using her writing skills as a freelance copywriter. Randee is now the Editor of WNC Business, communicating with business leaders across the region to craft stories of their businesses, industries, and successes.

Randee is also the Editor of other Hulsey Media publications, including Hendersonville Magazine and Aging Resources of WNC.
