  • AT THE MOVIES - DEADLY (WK 1): "Gluttony"
What's the deal with the 7 deadly sins? Why are they so deadly? Do they even apply to me?
This week we look at how each of us fall into the trap of overconsumption and why we think the opposite of gluttony isn't self control.

  • INTO THE WILDERNESS (WK 3): "New Creation"
At the very beginning of Jesus' ministry he chose to get baptized and spend 40 days in the Wilderness. 40 days in the nothingness of the desert because he was bringing something new. Find out how this story doesn't just describe Jesus as the New Moses, or the New Adam, but it's screaming that Jesus is ushering in the New Creation.

  • INTO THE WILDERNESS (WK 2): "The Voices"
Before Jesus taught or performed miracles a voice called him into the wilderness to be tested for 40days. In the Wilderness a different voice spoke to him. A voice that conquered every man before. Jesus succeeded where we all have failed because he is the New Adam.
What voices are you giving power in your life? What voices are pulling you forward and which are lying to you? What voices are keeping us in the wilderness, when we are meant to live in a garden?

  • INTO THE WILDERNESS (WK 1): "The Calling"
It's interesting that before Jesus taught or performed any miracles he chose to go immediately into the wilderness after his baptism. The Spirit called him to go to the desert for 40 days, to wander, to feel hunger pains, to be tested and to fulfill his role as the New Moses.
What can Jesus' model of going into the wilderness show us about testing our callings in life?

  • Commissioned
This is a bittersweet Sunday. We not only commissioned our lead pastor Aaron Loy to go and plant more churches, but we commissioned Bill Radtke to lead our community as Interim Pastor. This is an intimate look into our church, and to hear our vision for the next chapter of Mosaic's story.

  • Staying Dangerous
In his final sermon as Mosaic's lead pastor, Aaron reflects on the last seven years and challenges us to do everything we can to stay a dangerous church. For more about Mosaic, visit us at www.mosaiclincoln.org.

  • REVELATION (WK 7): "The Kingdom Comes"
What was the message that Jesus came to share with the world? What was it that Jesus seemed to always be talking about? What was the gospel he preached, embodied and then sent his disciples out to proclaim? Many seem to believe Jesus' message was primarily about information on how to go to heaven after you die. A read through the gospels and the book of Acts, however, reveals something far more beautiful and expansive than that.

  • REVELATION (WK 6): "The Violent Jesus?"
A rather prominent Christian pastor was quoted in a popular magazine as saying this about the Jesus we find in Revelation: “In Revelation, Jesus is a pride-fighter with a tattoo down His leg, a sword in His hand and a commitment to make someone bleed. This is a guy I can worship. I cannot worship the hippy, diaper, halo Christ, because I cannot worship a guy I can beat up.” Sadly, his thoughts about the Jesus of Revelation are not entirely unique. Some have used the book of Revelation to depict a violent God, who supports violent acts and who ultimately brings the world to a violent end. When we dig in and read John's Revelation responsibly, however, we find something altogether different.

  • REVELATION (WK 5): "Rapture In Reverse"
Fast forward to the end of the world as we know it. What does it look like? What happens to us? Where do believers go? What is to become of the earth? Rapture theology would have you believe that Christians are sucked up into the air and go to be with God somewhere else, while creation and those who are left endure several years of suffering before everything left is annihilated. Scholars point out that this kind of thinking is so prevalent in culture that most Christians assume it must be true. But is it? Is this even a biblical idea? Let's talk about it.
