  • 7 HEBREW WORDS (WK 2): "Todah"
"Ungrateful." It's one of the ugliest words in the English dictionary. No one likes an ungrateful person. No one strives to become an ungrateful person. And so strangely enough, no one thinks they are one. That's because ungratefulness is impossible to see in the mirror. Yet the bible suggests entitlement and ungratefulness is precisely where the human heart drifts. When it does, it destroys our capacity to experience wonder and amazement and joy. The solution? Becoming people who embody a spirit of "Todah." To learn more about Mosaic, visit us at www.mosaiclincoln.org.

  • 7 HEBREW WORDS (WK 1): "Torah"
The Hebrew language is uniquely different than English. In the OT there are only around 8600 words used, yet there are approximately 171,000 words in the English language. Hebrew words carry deep, layered meanings and we want to show you 7 words we believe everyone would benefit from knowing.
This week we explore the commonly misunderstood word Torah, and how this Hebrew word can shape our lives here and now.

  • GENESIS (WK3): "The Blessing"
In the final week of our Genesis series Eric Smith walks us through the shift that happens between chapters eleven and twelve, why the narrative changes, and how the promise to bless Abraham in ordering to be a blessing still applies to us today. The post-message Q&A begins at 48:20.

  • GENESIS (WK2): "Day 7"
Why does God need to rest on day 7? Is it because he's tired, he's establishing the practice of Sabbath, or something richer and deeper?
Eric Smith takes us into the world of an ancient Israelite and peels back the layers of just what is going on in day 7 of the Genesis creation account.

  • GENESIS (WK1): "Watery Chaos"
In week 1, Eric Smith President of Pillar Seminary, walks us through exactly how an ancient Israelite would have read Genesis chapter 1, and how they viewed the world compared to modern day readers.
Each week we will be ending our gatherings by asking questions that arise. If you have any questions about Genesis or The Bible we encourage you to text Mosaic Lincoln at 402.881.0739 or email info[at]mosaiclincoln.com.
Questions from both our 9:30 and 11:15 gatherings will be on the podcast.

  • God's Slipped Disc
In the fourth and final message in our "I Love My Church" teaching series we look at one of the New Testament's most popular metaphors for the movement of Jesus: "the body of Christ." As we will see, engagement in the body is essential both for us and for the world. It's part of the design. It's part of the fabric of redemption. Everyone has a part to play and every part is important. If the church is to be what it was created to be and do what it was created to do, it takes all of us.
Special thanks to Eugene Peterson, Andy Stanley, Greg Boyd, John Ortberg and all others who contributed to this series. For more about Mosaic, visit us at mosaiclincoln.org

  • A Bold Church
We live in one of the safest countries in the world. A number of us live in some of the safest neighborhoods and cities in one of the safest countries in the world...and we are still scared. Since birth we have been conditioned to be careful - "wear a helmet," "look both ways," "stranger danger," "double check the candy." Sadly, this mentality has found its way into our faith and into our churches. This was not always the case. Where did we go wrong? What are we missing? How can we recapture the heart of the early church?

  • The Cross
What is the essence of our faith? What is the message of the church? What is being a Christian really about? Depending on who you ask you can get wildly different answers. And far too often those answers sound far more American than they do Christian. If we are to follow in the way of Jesus, we must strip off all of the cultural baggage we've added to our message and get back to what it's all about: the cross. Special thanks to Eugene Peterson, Greg Boyd and John Ortberg for their contributions to this message. For more about Mosaic, visit us at mosaiclincoln.org.
