Members Reviews:
Linda Lael Miller is the best
but, please, please, please, never use this narrator again. She can't do men's voices. Her voice is pleasant, but not for this!
Of Familial Ties, Ghosts, and Critters
Loving animals as I do I wanted to delve into this story as soon as possible. Animals are given pivotal roles and how they impact the decisions and lives of the characters in the story is woven seamlessly through the book. I enjoyed the different family members, with their varying "gifts" and how those gifts worked to further the story line and interactions of the characters was well done. I would have given four stars to this review, however, the narrator sounded lackluster and the "listening" of her narration seemed to move in slow motion. I was able to amp up the speed of narration and that seemed to help a bit.
good
What made the experience of listening to The McKettrick Way the most enjoyable?
Not having to have a light on to read.
What other book might you compare The McKettrick Way to and why?
This was the first audiobook I've ever listened to.
Good story, bad narrator
I love Linda Miller stories becausethey are base on love and family. I only thing that kept me from enjoying this story is the narrator, she is talking to slow and whipsering. The only character that you can understand is Megan. My favorite is McKettrick Heart. I give this book a 3 because i just like Linda Miller.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
It would have been a 5 star review if Tom Stechschulte or Jim Dale or Davina Porter narrated it. This book wasn't her strongest one written but a strong narrator would have made it enjoyable.
Would you ever listen to anything by Linda Lael Miller again?
I love Linda Lael Miller and I own most of her books however, a poor narrator can ruin a book. I tried to read the Harry Potter series and I couldn't get past the first chapter. However I listened to them and to this day Jim Dale's performance is incredible. I have listened to the HP series at least a dozen times just to hear his narration.
How could the performance have been better?
The narrator was dismal! She had very little inflection. She sounded like a drunk, breathy robot. She spoke too quietly. I turned up my volume on my headphones as high as they would go and I still couldn't hear well. There was no difference between characters. I had a difficult time knowing who the HELL which character was speaking. It turned out that I was so sick of the story that I didn't care if I missed any details. I never have to listen to this story again! I would return it if I could. I was so disappointed.
