I had the amazing opportunity to be on Sunny 102.1 in Syracuse, NY to talk about how to find the right dog trainer for you. I didn’t quite get to all my points on air so I wanted to upload the interview along with all my other “off air” thoughts on the topic. I hope you enjoy.

Social animal: an animal that lives in groups

Pack animal: an animal that lives and hunts in a pack. Today we are going to unpack why this slight distinction is so important to understanding your dogs behavior and how this can help you help your dog be a happier, healthier and more confident Canine.

In this episode we are going to be talking about the importance of giving your dog a job and what some of those jobs could be.

A recent study by Gale found that 44% of Millennials view their pets as practice for the day they have their own children, and 21% claim this was the main reason they got a pet in the first place. So, does using pets as practice for children make sense? That is what we will discuss in this weeks episode.

While most parents understand it is important that their dogs know the kids rank higher than them in the family, they are often at a loss on how or when to get the kids involved in the training. Today we are going to talk about just that. I will give you some tips and tricks for different age groups and issues and hopefully we can help sooth the chaos just a little bit.

Today I want to talk to you about a serious issue in a not so serious way. I want to talk about a concerning trend I am seeing with dogs and dog parents lately. It’s everywhere, Super nervous, anxious, scared dogs. In this episode we are going to be talking about how to CREATE a dog like this. And in turn, help you realize some of the things you are doing now that contribute to this behavior and how to stop it.
