Trigger warning: In this episode we discuss stillbirth and miscarriage
In our fifth episode of Motherhood Confessions we're anonymously interviewing one of our beautiful listeners who has had to navigate the devastating loss of her baby at 32 weeks pregnant and despite a full autopsy, genetic testing and every investigation available her death remains unexplained.
During this period she had to try and hold everything together while still parenting her first daughter. She was determined to fall pregnant again, but after the stillbirth and multiple miscarriages the idea brought about feelings of stress and anxiety. Amazingly she was able to fall pregnant and recently gave birth to her now three month old son.
Today this mum wants to share her experience of ugly feelings and intrusive thoughts that can come after experiencing a profound loss. These thoughts are often wrapped in so much guilt and shame, but are so normal in grief so she is sharing with us to shed some light on this topic for anyone out there experiencing these types of feelings themselves and importantly to provide a better understanding to those who haven’t experienced loss.
