In this week's episode of Motherhood Confessions, one of our listeners shares her story as a first time mum going into spontaneous labour at 30 weeks pregnant when he waters unexpectedly broke. She birthed her daughter within 3 hours then was immediately separated for the next 7 weeks with her daughter in NICU.
She tells us about her experience of trying to bond with a baby that didn’t feel like hers, all while being told she might not make it.
Then once finally being able to take her daughter home she was diagnosed with PTSD, PPD & PPA, spending every minute checking if she was breathing and constantly expecting to find her passed away.
She wants to share her story to raise awareness of premature birth and postpartum mental health.
