Repentance is the necessary but negative part of the personal salvation experience. Faith Toward God is the positive portion that that completes the transaction. What is faith? How is it different than mental assent? Is there a way to increase faith? An important topic and discussion this morning.

We begin the new year by examining the foundation of our Christian walk. Increasingly, we are seeing many Christian public figures self-destruct before our eyes in scandal or heresy. What is going on? Somehow the foundation of their faith was incapable of sustaining a strong, spiritual life. It is vitally important for every believer to make certain their lives are built on clear, biblical principles, yet many have a gross misunderstanding of basics such as repentance, faith, and eternal judgment. During this eight-week course, we will strengthen and reinforce the foundation our lives are built upon.

In this final part of our series, we look at the role of thankfulness (gratitude) as a biblical way to open heaven. As humans, we appreciate gratitude when we go out of our way to help someone else. It is appropriate to both give and receive gratitude when circumstances merit it. Gratitude is the acknowledgement that someone else has helped or benefited you. Scripture shares clearly that the gates of heaven open when we genuinely express gratitude for all He has done. We delve deeper in today's message.

In this second of a four-part series on How To Open Heaven, we look at another character trait that causes God to open heaven to us. Mercy is an outward expression of kindness and compassion to those less fortunate. God is both Just and Merciful. How do the two exist together?

However, one of the most potent strongholds which destroys families, churches and governments is the stronghold of division. During this message, Pastor Casey reveals how many Christians unconsciously participate in this behavior until it becomes an every day habit, never realizing the damage to the Kingdom of God it causes. Some insight on how to break the cycle of this destructive stronghold that ruins many lives if left unchecked.

Throughout history, wars have been won or lost based on the strength of an army's spy network. Satan has spies too, and they look just like us. During today's message, Casey shares some of the ways our enemy infiltrates our churches with teachings designed to weaken and even destroy us.

In any natural warfare, infantry places a crucial role in victory. Today, I speak about hand-to-hand combat and what that means in the spiritual world. Our enemy is not flesh and blood, so it is critical that we understand how to win each battle for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
