On this episode of Motivated AF Mondays, I've got a much longer episode than usual. This could've just been a regular episode but I really wanted all of the "Encouragers/Promoters" out there to hear this as soon as possible. So who is in this group? If you always promote your friends and family, if you're always putting them on and encouraging them. You're the one that always tells them they can be anything they want. But if you were being honest, you'd admit that some days you can't help but wonder... "Why not ME? Why aren't they helping me? Why aren't they promoting me? Why does no one notice ME?" On this ep, I interview Eisner-Award winning writer & artist, Michael Kupperman. Michael’s comic drawings & strips have appeared in dozens of publications including The New Yorker, Fortune, The New York Times, Forbes, Esquire, McSweeney’s comic books for DC, Marvel, & others, & have been collected in multiple books, including 5 of his own. They’ve also been animated for SNL, Adult Swim, & Comedy Central. Michael’s new graphic memoir “All The Answers” hit stores TODAY. In the book, Michael traces the life of his reclusive father, the once world-famous Joel Kupperman. During World War II, Joel’s uncanny ability to solve complex math problems in his head made him one of the young geniuses to star on the hit radio series, Quiz Kids. On this episode, I sit down with IronMan and World's Toughest Mudder competitor, Cole Giovannetti and his supportive wife, Lauren Lee. Cole recently competed in a 24-hour obstacle course race (Yes, I said 24 HOURS!) with his wife Lauren pushing him (quite literally!) to give his all during that race as well as half marathons, marathons, IronMan races and more. I wanted to have Lauren and Cole on the podcast because I find their dynamic as a couple very refreshing. They have a balance as a couple that affords them the ability to both reach the goals they personally set for themselves, and that’s not something I see every day. I have known them both for a few years now and Cole’s self-discipline and goal-oriented mindset has always been something I found interesting and I think you will too. We also talk about the launch of their new business, "Diversifit" - an exclusive fitness community for athletes and weekend warriors. This episode is inspirational AF, so check it out!

On this episode, I’ve got my interview with singer/songwriter Ashton Riker. I say this a lot... but this may be my new favorite episode. Ashton was so great in this interview. I felt like he and I just clicked, which in my opinion, always makes things much more organic and natural. Now having said that, this is where I will formally warn you that there is a fair amount of language in this episode. Don't say I didn't warn you! Ashton was born and raised in Memphis and was recently a part of “Take Me To The River: Live!” a tour that was in conjunction with the award-winning documentary “Take Me To The River.” Ashton and I talk about everything from how he got his start, life on the road, songwriting, depression, anxiety, being a caregiver, success, motivation, and even...haunted hotels. I am so proud of this episode! Check it out!
