Meet Mandee—a long-distance motorcyclist, HOG chapter leader, creator of Quest of the Water Towers, and a woman who went from being an anxious new rider to putting 36,000 miles on her motorcycle in a single year.
In this episode of MotorFemmes, Kay talks with Mandee about learning to ride later in life, starting out on a Harley-Davidson Road King, overcoming the anxiety that once kept her from riding alone, and discovering the independence and confidence that come from taking control of the handlebars.
Mandee shares what she’s learned about long-distance riding, preparing for the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge, riding solo, building skills, and refusing to let her size—or someone else’s opinion of what she should ride—determine what she can do.
But her story goes beyond the miles. Mandee is also helping other women get out and ride through Quest of the Water Towers, a Minnesota motorcycle challenge she created to encourage women to explore new roads, meet other riders, and have adventures of their own.
It’s a conversation about motorcycles, anxiety, confidence, leadership, community, and discovering just how far you can go when you stop letting fear make the decisions.
At MotorFemmes, we celebrate women who keep challenging themselves, encouraging each other, and finding out what’s possible—one mile at a time.
