We are wrapping up our series Breakthrough, and can we just tell you - God in his grace and mercy has been bringing hope and freedom for so many! Shame is such a universal reality for everyone! It certainly is something we all wrestle with. This is a great week to be here at MVC.

We are overwhelmed and grateful for how God is moving during this season. This Breakthrough series has opened up vulnerable places in many of us. And Jesus, in his lovingkindness is present, full of compassion and deep love. This week, we will be looking at the pain of Bitterness. Again we ask that as you prepare, you would pray for those in our community in need of breakthrough.

Today, we're kicking off a brand new series called “Breakthrough” where we are going to take the truths of Scripture and lay them over the difficulties of our life to experience breakthrough in the things that are holding you back and holding you down.

There is a story being written, of God’s love for his creation, for humanity and for you. Each chapter builds on the ones before and prepares us for the next. As the calendar rolls into a new year, it's time for the page to turn to a new chapter in the story. We have the privilege of being here right now, at this moment! What is he inviting us to in this next season and how do we prepare for what he has in store? Let's discover this invitation from Jesus!

In this season of Advent, we’ve been digging into four titles that Isaiah gave to Jesus. We've rattled them off many times: “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” In fact, the titles are so familiar that their meaning has become diluted to us. Isaiah could rightfully ask us “do you even understand what you are saying?” Especially “Everlasting Father”. Why would Isaiah call Jesus, the son of God, “Everlasting Father”? Today we're studying this question. The answers are fascinating and full of hope!

We just LOVE the Christmas Season! The lights, the music, and the traditions. The Advent season of Christmas has such a special way of bringing us together and we are so grateful for how this month is bringing us together as a church family! Last week we kicked off Week 1 of our Advent series and we're so excited that this Sunday, Pastor Ken Baugh will be preaching in our series through Isaiah 9 on Jesus as our “Mighty God.”

Hey Church Fam! We can't tell you how excited we are to celebrate Christmas with you! The season of Advent is such a powerful time to pause and anticipate the coming of the most extraordinary gift ever given. Can't wait to share this message with you!

Do you ever wonder why scripture encourages us to be grateful and how Jesus modeled the posture of thankfulness, even in the midst of trials? Or why is there a national holiday dedicated to being thankful? It’s because the posture of thankfulness is life-changing and life-giving for ourselves and for the world! It is actually a superpower that everyone who is created in the image of God possesses. Especially those who have chosen the way of Jesus! Today, we are going to unpack this topic some more. We are going to dig into how gratitude is critical to our own mental, physical, & emotional well-being. We’ll see how living gratefully is also what Jesus is calling us to for the world.
